Generally speaking, among Evolution Items of the same tier, the most precious are undoubtedly Wondrous Items, followed by extracts, and finally, various evolution materials.

The Lin Family had only promised to give Su Ze three Tier 5 materials; they never said they would give him a Tier 5 extract or a Wondrous Item.

Su Ze turned back and chuckled sheepishly. "This is the first time I’ve seen so many Tier 5 Wondrous Items and extracts... I’m sorry for holding everyone up. Why don’t you open the box first? I can take my time choosing afterward."

"It’s fine. There’s no rush." Lin Tiannan had no choice but to let Su Ze examine the extracts and Wondrous Items one by one.

In this small room, there were ten vials of Tier 5 extracts alone, and over a dozen Tier 5 Wondrous Items, all locked within transparent glass cases.

At the level of Tier 5 extracts, the lowest was C-grade; there were no D or E-grade ones. However, Su Ze generally wouldn’t consider anything less than S-grade unless he was absorbing an extract from a tier higher than his own.

Unfortunately, there were no S-grade extracts among the ten Tier 5 vials. The skills from the only two A-grade extracts weren’t suitable for Su Ze, either.

After a few seconds of consideration, Su Ze gave up on the extracts and turned to ask Lin Tiannan, "Could I trade the three Tier 5 materials for one Tier 5 Wondrous Item?"

Lin Tiannan remained noncommittal, asking with a smile instead, "And which Tier 5 Wondrous Item have you set your sights on?"

Generally speaking, unless the materials were exceptionally rare, the value of three Tier 5 evolution materials was far less than that of a single Tier 5 Wondrous Item.

Besides, the value of Tier 5 Wondrous Items varied greatly. Lin Tiannan wanted to see which one Su Ze had chosen.

Su Ze pretended to browse for a moment before pointing straight at his target: the constantly shifting Wondrous Item in the glass container.

Lin Tiannan breathed a small sigh of relief upon seeing Su Ze’s choice. Although this Wondrous Item was useful, its value was only average among the other Tier 5 Wondrous Items. Furthermore, the Lin Family had very few opportunities to use it.

’A Thousand-Change Octopus?’

Su Ze was suddenly reminded of the Hundred-Change Mask in his storage artifact. It came from a Tier 3 beast, the Mimic Octopus, and it seemed the Thousand-Change Octopus was the evolved form of the Mimic Octopus.

’In other words, is this Wondrous Item, "Thousand Illusions," an upgraded version of the Hundred-Change Mask?’

In fact, ever since Su Ze reached the Saint-rank, the Tier 3 Wondrous Item, the Hundred-Change Mask, had gradually become inadequate. Against Venerable Powerhouses and Legendary experts, its disguise was easily seen through.

As a Tier 5 Wondrous Item, "Thousand Illusions" should be far more effective than the Hundred-Change Mask. Unfortunately for it, Su Ze was definitely going to absorb it to upgrade a skill.

He put on an apologetic look and said to Lin Tiannan, "I know this might be asking too much. Why don’t you tell me the difference in value, and I can pay the rest?"

Lin Tiannan waved his hand. "Since you’ve taken a liking to it, it’s yours. You brought an ancestral relic to our Lin Family. If we charged you extra for a promised thank-you gift, what would people say? That the Lin Family is stingy?"

Without studying Thousand Illusions, Su Ze immediately stored the Tier 5 Wondrous Item away.

Next, he picked out the Tier 5 materials that he felt drawn to. These were all materials that could strengthen his skills.

These materials weren’t free, however; Su Ze intended to purchase them.

He then visited the Tier 4 materials section of the vault, but unfortunately, he didn’t find any upgrade materials there that held a strong attraction for him, only a few that could be used for strengthening.

In the end, Su Ze selected a total of three Tier 5 materials and five Tier 4 materials, paying fifteen million points for them. And that was after the Lin Family had given him a discount.

’Including the materials Chen Suifeng collected for me,’ Su Ze estimated, ’my strength should increase significantly once I absorb all of this.’
