"What kind of beginning will tomorrow bring?" she silently asked herself, then gradually drifted into slumber. The night always passes by without most people even noticing.

The morning sunlight streamed through the heavy curtains into the room as Ian awoke from the soft silk bedding. He stretched lazily, feeling the softness of the mattress beneath him and the faint scent of incense in the air.

He glanced around.

The Little Wizard still couldn’t believe he was sleeping in an ancient castle. Of course, Hogwarts was also an ancient castle, but this unbelievable experience of being in the past was entirely different.

"What a fantastical journey."

Ian murmured softly, then got up and dressed. After a simple wash, he eagerly left the room, ready to explore this novel era.

Dragons and magic.

Knights and wizards.

The dazzling age was truly unveiling before his eyes, and what better way to learn history than this? Just as he stepped out of the room, Ian caught a whiff of a peculiar smell.

It was like some sort of herb boiling over, releasing a pungent aroma mixed with an indescribable sweet and fishy scent.

"Magic Potion?" Following the scent, Ian saw Riddle crouched by the window, intently mixing a magic potion, with all kinds of oddly-shaped bottles scattered on the ground.

"Where did you get the materials?"

Ian looked at Riddle in astonishment as he fiddled with the Dark Arts ceremony. He could only roughly comprehend Riddle’s concoction, as the Half-blood Prince hadn’t taught him the involved Dark Arts knowledge.

"There are wizards in this castle." Riddle looked up, a fleeting unnatural expression crossing his face when he saw it was Ian, but he quickly regained his composure.

He didn’t directly answer where his materials came from; perhaps the Black Demon King was ashamed to admit he was a thief.

"Using Dark Arts to counter the effects of Dark Arts?" Ian could roughly discern what Riddle was brewing, but he didn’t quite understand the reason behind Riddle’s concoction.

This guy was obviously in great shape, able to lead a dozen miles of horses without breaking a sweat!

"Though you revived Malfoy, Helbo’s modification of him was incomplete, and he still has significant issues, so I’m trying to save him."

Riddle had pondered deeply about this all night.

This was his plan.

"Huh?"

Ian raised an eyebrow in surprise, "You’re... actually brewing a magic potion to save Malfoy? Is this the Tom Riddle I know?"

The Little Wizard’s tone was filled with awe.

Faced with Ian’s teasing.

Riddle forced a smile while continuing his work.

"After all, he’s my servant; I can’t just watch him stay unconscious, can I?" Riddle explained righteously, his tone carrying a rare sense of responsibility.

His reasoning was quite sound.

However.

Ian couldn’t help but gaze up and down at this Black Demon King.

"Riddle, you’ve changed." Ian suddenly said, with a touch of comfort in his voice. "You’ve actually started to have a sense of responsibility, which truly surprises me."

The Little Wizard gave a thumbs-up.

Riddle responded with another forced smile.

However.

He dared not make eye contact with Ian for too long. How to put it, a Black Demon King couldn’t possibly be this kind-hearted; he was Voldemort, the notorious villain who instilled fear in countless people!

A guilty conscience?

Impossible!

Riddle knew, he had his own plans!

The Malfoy Clan is loyal to him! Hence, now, the Malfoy family must shoulder their responsibilities, and the servant of the great Black Demon King, who was once used as his body, must suffer in his stead!

Indeed!... Malfoy must become the accursed Black Demon God’s groom! Only then! Could the Black Demon King start considering what a Black Demon King should consider! This was Riddle’s line of thought, a showcase of his astonishing wisdom last night, while choosing to elevate Ian’s status to maintain his own dignity.

The Black Demon King certainly remains invincible.

But, should adversaries come from above, he’d merely say there’s nothing to be done. Riddle reestablished his confidence last night, demonstrating his formidable psychological resilience.

Such innate talent.

Perhaps this is it.
