For some reason, Elfa felt a little scared when he saw Erica.

Her overwhelming brute force had left a deep impression on him.

Li Wei was a little surprised to hear Elfa say that the formidable opponent he’d encountered that morning was Erica.

He suddenly remembered Elfa saying that Erica had some kind of item that could silence Magic Elements.

’What if it wasn’t an item?’

’What if it was Erica’s Dragon Language Curse?’

’That was also possible. Elfa might not have actually seen Erica cast the "Elemental Return" Dragon Language Curse.’

’He probably just assumed it was an item capable of silencing Magic Elements.’

Elfa turned and met Li Wei’s gaze.

He asked, "You fought her?"

Li Wei nodded. "Yeah. She’s incredibly strong. I was completely outmatched."

Elfa sighed. "Well, that’s that. She’s a natural counter to Elemental Mages, so it can’t be helped if we can’t beat her."

He turned to leave.

Kroy, who was standing nearby, quickly stopped him. "Elfa, look! It seems like she’s getting ready to leave."

"Hm?"

Elfa instinctively stopped and turned to look.

He saw Erica walking toward the other end of the stone bridge.

She apparently had no intention of continuing to defend the platform.

Li Wei, however, knew exactly why she was leaving.

It was the only logical decision for anyone who saw the requirements to obtain the Magic Forbidden Curse Fragment.

Occupying the stone bridge platform would grant a lot of Points.

But it meant facing an endless stream of challengers.

It just wasn’t worth it.

And there was no guarantee of holding it, anyway.

No matter how strong Erica was, she would eventually be worn down by a few challengers fighting her in succession.

When Erica saw Li Wei and his group arrive, she decided it was time to retreat.

There was no point in staying, so she might as well leave.

Elfa was delighted to see Erica leave.

He hurriedly rushed toward the stone bridge.

’No matter what, I’ll go up and see for myself,’ he thought.

Just as Elfa stepped onto the stone bridge, people from another Mage Tower appeared in the distance.

Seeing Elfa, they quickened their pace and hurried over.

Elfa glanced back but ignored the approaching challengers, hastily checking the information about the hidden reward.

After reading how to obtain the hidden reward, realization dawned on him.

He now understood why Erica had left.

’So staying here is completely useless.’

Just as a challenger was about to step onto the platform, Elfa came down.

The others looked on, completely baffled. ’What’s going on?’

Several of them exchanged a look and decided not to overthink it; one of them would go up and see.

After one person went up, an expression of sudden realization appeared on his face, and he too came back down.

"Something’s not right. Why did you all come back down?"

someone asked in confusion.

"You have to kill Nitro to get the Magic Forbidden Curse Fragment. It’s useless to stay here."

"We need to hurry and find Nitro."

Before long, members from all five of the top Mage Towers had come and gone.

One of the newcomers grumbled, "What’s going on? Weren’t we told this was a Forbidden Curse inheritance? How did it turn into a mere Magic Forbidden Curse Fragment?"

"No kidding! I heard it was the inheritance of some ancient Legendary Mage, but it’s just a single Magic Forbidden Curse Fragment. What good is that?"

"And you can only get it during the final hour. Fucking useless."

"What are we supposed to do with it? Take someone down with us in a blaze of glory?"

After learning the conditions for obtaining the Magic Forbidden Curse Fragment, many of the Mages formed teams and set off to hunt down Nitro.

Li Wei thought he now understood why Nitro had appeared after the hidden platform was activated.

The creature probably knew that once the method to obtain the Magic Forbidden Curse Fragment was revealed, it would become everyone’s primary target.

It wanted to use the time it had to increase its combat power.

RUMBLE! BOOM!

An earth-shattering roar echoed from the distance, as if a pillar of heaven had collapsed and crashed to the ground.

The entire island trembled.

Li Wei quickly flew up and looked in that direction.

He saw the giant Nitro battling a group of Mages.

After watching for a moment, Li Wei suddenly spotted a familiar figure on the battlefield.

A white figure darted about like a Ghost, assassinating Mages.

’Isn’t that the Shadow Attendant?’

’How did it end up teaming up with Nitro?’

Li Wei mentally contacted the Shadow Attendant.

A moment later, he received the Shadow Attendant’s reply and learned what had happened.

The Shadow Attendant had been following Li Wei’s orders, seeking out Mages from the other four Mage Towers to eliminate them.

However, it had run into a Space Mage. Its sneak attack failed, and it was nearly captured.

If the giant Nitro hadn’t appeared, the Shadow Attendant would have been captured.

After a brief communication, the Shadow Attendant decided that following the giant Nitro was the best way to complete the task Li Wei had assigned.

And so, they began working together.

The giant Nitro would attack the platforms and devour the Purple Star Stones.

The Shadow Attendant would use the opportunity to eliminate the Mages.

The pair quickly achieved impressive results.

As a result, they also drew the combined attention of the other factions.

The giant Nitro had already destroyed seven platforms, its Power increasing dramatically.

It was now heading toward the eighth platform.

THUD! THUD! THUD!

Ignoring everyone’s attacks, it advanced in a straight line, its purpose clear.

It flattened forests, carved paths through mountains, and strode across rivers.

"Dimension Slash!"

A pitch-black spatial rift struck the giant Nitro.

A burst of purple light erupted from the giant Nitro’s body, blocking the Dimension Slash.

The Space Mage who had cast Dimension Slash looked on in astonishment.

Not long ago, his Dimension Slash had grievously wounded Nitro, even severing one of its arms.

’How much time has passed since then?’

’Now, even Dimension Slash can’t break through its defenses.’

A chill ran down everyone’s spines.

Li Wei flew rapidly toward the battlefield.

He felt a chill run down his spine as he witnessed the scene.

’If Nitro keeps devouring Purple Star Stones, I’m afraid it’s going to break through to Tier Seven.’

’At that point, no one will be able to stop it.’

"Burn!"

Li Wei stared intently at Nitro.

He tried to use the Flame Rule to ignite Nitro’s fur.

It failed.

Nitro turned its head slightly to glance at Li Wei, then ignored him and continued on its path.

Li Wei’s brow furrowed.

The purple light covering Nitro was imbued with Rule Power, allowing it to resist attacks from his Basic Level Flame Rule.

"Purple Star Stone?"

Li Wei’s thoughts turned to the Purple Star Stone.

The very thing Nitro was constantly seeking and devouring.

’What exactly is the Purple Star Stone?’

’If I can figure that out, maybe I’ll know how to break through its protective purple light.’

The Alchemist stared at Nitro, which was completely enveloped in purple light.

He silently put away the Special Potion he was holding.

This Potion had been specially created to target Nitro’s fur.

It was designed to maximally weaken the fur’s Defense Power.

But now, the Potion couldn’t even touch Nitro.

It was completely useless.

Seeing Elfa, Eiris, and the others flying over, Li Wei stopped short and asked, "What is the Purple Star Stone?"

Elfa glanced at the distant Nitro. "The Purple Star Stone seems to be some kind of otherworldly object. I’m not too sure."

Eiris said, "Legend says that Nitro are creatures from another world that came to the Sky Dome World in ancient times. The Purple Star Stone is a product of Nitro’s native world. It can stimulate their racial bloodline and awaken their Primordial Power."

Li Wei frowned. "Then is there any way to deal with it?"

He looked toward the distant Nitro.

"Right now, its Power has probably already reached the Half-Step Legendary Realm."
