Chapter 1959: Part 2: Gold City Auction

Gold City-Auction

It didn’t take long for the bidding price to skyrocket. Someone bought the map at the price of 1,000 mid-grade mana stones.

Time passed.

The auction continued. Many exotic and rare things were auctioned. So far, the auction items were useful for the Supreme Wizards.

Some even appeared at the level of the Magic Lord. But those artifacts were not useful to me. Most of them were here for the final auction item.

It didn’t take long for some good items to appear. The guests on the second floor moved. They started bidding for the auction items.

The price of the auction items went above 20,000 mid-grade mana stones. The people on the second floor started buying the Magic Lord-level auction items.

Because of them, the auction was going quietly. No one was making any noise. There was pin-drop silence on the first floor.

On the other hand, I was waiting for the right opportunity to release the zero puppet. So far, no Elder-level powerhouse has appeared. I didn’t know whether anyone was hidden or not.

But I would release the zero puppet before the final auction item was auctioned.

Time passed.

When it was close to midnight, the final auction item was going to be announced. I stood up from my seat and left the place.

There were others who stood up from their seats as well. Because everyone knew it was time for the main show, they didn’t want to get caught in the crossfire.

A fight may break out. If it happened, they would suffer even more. The people started leaving. Seeing that, Martin didn’t react. It was normal for people to be afraid.

The auction house staff allowed the people to leave the place. They opened the exit door.

Seeing that, the people on the second floor didn’t react. Some of them had bought items, but they still wanted to see the final auction item. They wanted to know what kind of special relic it was.

Taking advantage of the opportunity, I walked through the crowd. But instead of going towards the exit, I entered another empty room.

No one paid attention to me. I appeared inside the Gregor Mansion. Then, I instructed the zero puppet to follow the staff who were bringing the super relic.

Then I brought the zero puppet outside. Dark and red smoke left the room. Next, I appeared inside the Gregor Mansion and went to the control room to watch.

I arrived in front of the mirror. The room was empty; no one had come to check inside. My heartbeat was fast. I was stealing food from the tiger’s mouth.

Meanwhile,

The zero puppet, in smoke form, went towards the secret room. It quickly found the staff who were ready to take the special relic item to the stage.

Once the auctioneer announced it, they would move the item. Currently, the special relic was placed inside the room, and the staff were standing outside.

The smoke entered the room. No one saw it. The zero puppet then removed the cover of the wooden box and saw a black token inside. It collected the black token.

Then it closed the wooden cover before leaving the room. It didn’t take long for the red smoke to return to the room.

At the same time, Auctioneer Martin announced the last auction item.

"The last auction item is a special relic. We found it inside an ancient ruin," Martin said.

Gasp!

An exclamation sounded. This time, the noise came from the second floor. A special relic is something hard to come by. They were eager to see the treasure.

The staff went inside the room and picked up the wooden box. They were carrying it towards the stage.

On the other hand, I appeared outside. I collected the token and the zero puppet inside the Gregor Mansion. Then I exited the room and went towards the exit.

The guards didn’t stop me. There were a few people staying behind. I left the auction house building, then I immediately went to a cab driver and told him to drop me at the nearest restaurant.

When the car departed from the place, inside the auction house, the cover was removed. The auction item was gone. It was nowhere to be seen.

The staff were stunned. The auctioneer was even more shocked. Before coming here, he had verified the token himself. They looked at the staff.

Their faces turned pale with fright. They didn’t know what was going on. No one had entered the room after Auctioneer Martin.

Gasp!

This time there was a genuine exclamation. Everyone stood up from their seats. The wizards on the first floor were trembling. The worst-case scenario had happened.

They had thought some fight would occur, but they never expected the auction item to be gone even before the bidding.

Since the item had not appeared for the auction, these people couldn’t demand anything from the auction house. It was their headache to handle. Their money was still safe with them.

The wizards on the second floor stood up as well. They were from good backgrounds; they didn’t think the worst. They thought the staff might have picked up the wrong wooden box, and the special relic might still be with them.

Boom!

A terrific pressure came from the third floor. There were powerful people inside the third floor.

"What’s going on?"

A deep male voice sounded from the third floor. Hearing that, everyone’s faces changed drastically. The people on the second floor especially felt terrible pressure.

They were Supreme Wizards and Magic Lords, but the pressure coming from the third floor was that of Forbidden Wizards.

The face of the auctioneer changed as he recovered his thoughts.

He said, "There seems to be some error. Please be patient for a few minutes. I’ll come back with the special auction item."

After saying that, Manager Martin left the place. He went to the room, quickly arriving in front of it. He opened the room door and stepped inside.

The room was empty. He scanned the whole room, but he didn’t find anything at all.

Meanwhile,

The cab driver dropped me in front of the restaurant. I stepped out and paid the fare to the driver.
