Capital Border

The car moves through mid-air, facing fierce winds. Inside the car, my gaze falls outside. The barren land stretches across endlessly. I cannot see any trouble coming so far.

One hour later,

Everything was going fine. But suddenly, a change occurred. I could see the vision ahead was getting blurred.

[Ding! A powerful sand hurricane is coming at the host.]

The system voice sounded in my mind. Hearing that, my heart was stirred. The system is responding faster now. I didn’t even sense the hurricane. The system has improved; it’s a good thing.

I didn’t warn the wizards. It’s a natural phenomenon.

Not long after, the sand hurricane becomes visible. The swirling clouds came into view. As my gaze fell to the bottom, I saw the swirling clouds reaching up from the ground.

The Supreme wizards in the car didn’t pay attention to it. If they came across the hurricane on the path, they would drive through it.

As time passed, the hurricane got closer. As expected, contact might occur. But I noticed the wizards are calm. These criminals are rather used to the situation.

I had been thinking whether to kill them and then use the car to reach the border. But I’m thinking about one more situation. I could come across those Five Magic Lords who were stalking me earlier.

If they were keeping an eye on my movements, it won’t be difficult for them to find out my destination.

The sand hurricane got closer. Both the drivers moved fast and avoided a direct collision. The flying car easily got past the sand hurricane.

The flying cars then escaped the danger area. The Supreme wizards in the car didn’t show any panic at all.

Time passed,

That night, both the flying cars reached the base. I saw a series of high sand-tower buildings. They were buildings clearly built using earth magic.

The Supreme wizards in the car looked at each other. They drove the cars towards one of the sand towers.

The Supreme wizards in the car sighed in relief. They are now at their base. Here, they can be at ease. The masked man cannot make any trouble.

If he does something, then they have higher-ups who are Magic Lords as well. They can take care of him. The Supreme wizards eyed each other.

The cars entered the garage.

Creak!

Once both the cars were parked, the Supreme wizards left the car without looking at the masked man. All six of them entered the sand tower to inform their higher-ups.

Seeing that, my mouth curved into an arc. I stepped out of the car.

[Ding! A Magic Lord is scanning the place.]

The system voice sounded in my mind. The next second, I appeared inside the Gregor Mansion. I immediately went to the control room to see.

I arrived in front of the control mirror. My gaze fell on the mirror. I’m waiting for the wizards to appear.

Swoosh!

The next second, several figures appeared outside, including the six Supreme Wizards. But there are two Magic Lords with them as well. 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝓮𝒘𝙚𝙗𝒏𝙤𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝒐𝙢

One of them used mental power to scan the place. He appears to be a middle-aged man in his forties. He has a well-built physique.

But the Magic Lord is dressed in sand-colored cloth. His face and head are covered in cloth as well. But he has blue eyes. The blue eyes are looking for traces of the wizard.

But he didn’t find anything. The other Supreme wizards are checking out the cars right now. But the masked man was nowhere to be seen.

The other Magic Lord didn’t hide his face. He stood cross-armed and tried to find someone. Both the Magic Lords didn’t ask anything of the Supreme wizards.

Looking at their behavior right now, it is confirmed that the masked man has escaped. To escape under their noses, it showed the masked man could be a Magic Lord.

So they can’t blame the Supreme wizards.

A few minutes later,

Both the Magic Lords looked at each other.

The one with blue eyes said, "There is no trace of the Magic Lord. It appears the person has used magic to disappear."

Gasp!

Hearing that, the Supreme Wizards gasped in surprise. Some of them showed fear.

They were scared because if they had made a move against the masked man earlier, all of them would have died. They made the right decision not to confront the person.

"What did he ask?" the blue-eyed Magic Lord asked.

"The masked man asked us to drop him at the border. But we made a decision to bring him here," one of the Supreme Wizards said.

Hearing that, both the Magic Lords looked at each other. They knew what lies beyond the border. There is the Nyx Land across the border.

"The masked man might want to enter the Nyx Land," the blue-eyed wizard said.

Hearing that, the other Magic Lord sneered. They knew what would happen if someone enters the forbidden land.

They would be poisoned to death. The dark mana is nothing but poison to others if they are not dark wizards.

"The masked man will die," the Magic Lord said.

"No, the masked man was confident. If he dared to go there, then he could be a dark wizard as well," the blue-eyed wizard said.

"So there is no need to go after this person," he added.

Hearing that, the others understood.

Meanwhile,

I’m watching everything from the control room. Seeing that they have decided to give up, I smiled. The wizards are discussing among themselves.

Apparently, they have got another assignment from the Magic Lords. The six Supreme wizards left the place, but they didn’t take their cars.

On the other hand, both the Magic Lords once again scanned the place before leaving.

It appears that they have contact with many weird wizards, so they were not surprised by the current situation at all.

Once they were gone from the place, I waited. I wanted a little time to pass.

One hour later,

I appeared outside and entered one of the cars. The next second, I started the car and left the place.
