Global Deities: Rising as Wood Elves' God
Chapter 118 - 117: Fellow Elves, How Are We Faring?
Zhang Yi, controlling Elf High Priest Shamiel’s body, arrived at the highest point of the Gourd Canyon entrance—Gourd Pass!
When possessed by the great God of Nature, a unique aura would emanate from the body.
Thus, the Elves patrolling the new fortifications at the entrance of Gourd Canyon could instantly tell whether they were seeing Elf High Priest Shamiel or the great God of Nature.
The moment they saw Shamiel this time,
the patrolling Elves recognized that it was the great God of Nature!
The great God of Nature’s identity needed to be concealed for now.
All the Clans under Zhang Yi knew the importance of this plan.
Therefore, instead of addressing him as the God of Nature,
they referred to him by his original title: the Elf God!
Before Zhang Yi’s eyes, the trees on the inner side of the pass had been completely cleared. Various barricades, traps, and other defenses were already hidden in place.
In front of him stood a sturdy wall built with Magic Metal for rebar and cement mixed with Obsidian Powder.
Atop the wall were Elf Giant Crossbows and Stone-Throwing Cannons crafted from Magic Trees.
The corners of the walls were prepared with rolling logs, Golden Soup, and more.
Anyone who saw it would be stunned by the steel fortress before them!
’What superb craftsmanship!’
The Mountain Dwarves had always lived in the mountains; they were more familiar with this type of terrain than anyone.
After combining their own traditions with guidance from the great Elf God,
they quickly broke new ground.
This steel fortress, a perfect fusion of Magic and architecture, was constructed in just five short days under the guidance of the Dwarves and with the help of the Elf Mages!
Zhang Yi couldn’t even imagine what would happen in the future, once they absorbed the wisdom of the Magical Civilization.
When his Divine Realm reached its zenith,
what brilliant sparks of ingenuity would fly when the minds of Dwarves and Elves collided?
"Great God of Nature, Elf Legion Commander Feiyana has returned with Elf Elder Amos from the small tribe."
"From now on, we are to address you as the great Elf God."
Zhang Yi nodded.
’Once I obtain the Elf Divine Position in this Small Magic Plane, my title of Elf God will be truly deserved!’
As far as the eye could see, Zhang Yi was surrounded by the Elf Corps.
This was partly to give the "captured" Elf Elder Amos a little show of force to put him in his place,
and partly to ensure the safety of the great God of Nature!
Since it would be strange for Dwarves to appear on this occasion,
to avoid arousing suspicion,
the entire Dwarf Corps was positioned deeper inside Gourd Canyon, at its narrow exit.
"Since Elf Legion Commander Feiyana is about to arrive, let’s go down and greet them!"
As Zhang Yi spoke, he walked down from Gourd Pass at the entrance of Gourd Canyon, heading towards the gate at the bottom of the giant steel wall.
Meanwhile, Elf Elder Amos, who had been escorted the entire way, had no idea what he was about to witness.
...
Elf Elder Amos had been anxious the entire journey.
But after a while, his anxiety faded.
He reasoned that if they truly wanted to kill him, they wouldn’t have wasted so much time putting on such an elaborate act.
This meant there was a real possibility that these Elves truly worshipped the great Elf God!
For his group of Elves, this would be a wonderful thing!
Those detestable Moon Elves had betrayed the Elf Clan and seized the Main City.
The Moon Elves had driven all other Elves out of the Main City, forcing them back into a tribal existence.
Worse, the Moon Elves were trying to force them to renounce their faith in the great God of Nature and instead worship a Moon God of their own choosing!
For Amos and his fellow Elves, this was unthinkable!
Elf Elder Amos thought to himself:
’The details speak volumes.’
’From what I’ve seen, this Elf Corps is incredibly strong!’
’If I can win over this powerful-looking Elf Corps, we might have a real chance of overthrowing the so-called Moon God and restoring the great Elf God!’
’...’
Just as Elf Elder Amos was lost in these wild thoughts, trying to calm his nerves,
he suddenly heard Elf Legion Commander Feiyana’s voice.
"We’re here!"
’Here where?’
Elf Elder Amos wondered.
When Elf Elder Amos, who had been staring at his feet, finally lifted his head,
he was utterly stunned.
Before him stood a steel wall, over ten meters high, its surface reflecting a black sheen under the sunlight.
It gave off an air of indestructibility at first glance,
looming over him!
"This... this is... your wall!"
"Your wall is even taller than the wall of the Elf Main City!"
Elf Elder Amos was so shocked he couldn’t help but mutter to himself.
But as quiet as he was, his words were easily heard by Elf Legion Commander Feiyana, who had already reached the Sixth Level.
Feiyana simply smiled when she heard him.
However, her expression changed the moment she saw the figure surrounded by a group of Elves up ahead.
Meanwhile, Amos, who had been snapped out of his daze by Feiyana’s voice,
was now fully alert. He noticed the Legion Commander’s change in expression,
and upon seeing the figure surrounded by Elves, he knew that someone important had arrived!
Elf Legion Commander Feiyana was shocked because she sensed the aura of the God of Nature,
which meant the God of Nature considered this meeting important enough
to attend in person!
Elf Elder Amos, on the other hand, was shocked,
because among the approaching Elves,
he sensed a unique aura.
It was an aura remarkably similar to that of the Elf God he had once encountered!
Elf Elder Amos shook his head slightly. ’Impossible!’ he told himself.
"Welcome to my city, fellow Elves from afar!"
Elf Elder Amos had thought that after surviving the Moon Elf rebellion and being subdued by this unknown Elf Corps,
he would no longer feel nervous about anything.
But now,
as he heard the voice from the approaching party,
the perfectly synchronized footsteps,
and felt the inexplicable authority and imposing presence,
Elf Elder Amos, who had sensed an aura like that of a Divine Being, couldn’t help but brace himself!
Elf Elder Amos’s gaze seemed to pierce through the layers of guards to fall upon the central figure of this meeting.
Under the watchful eyes of all, Elf High Priest Shamiel’s honor guard took center stage.
Elf Elder Amos stared up at their Armor and Weapons, which were covered in all sorts of Magic Runes he had never seen before.
Each member of Elf High Priest Shamiel’s Elf Guard was the elite of the elite.
These members of the Elf Guard were taller than ordinary Elves, and their Armor bore specialized Magic Runes.
These Magic Runes could sustain the Elf Guards through even the most fatal of dangers, allowing them to fight to the very last!
The presence of these Elf Guards was overwhelming.
Elf Elder Amos had just managed to catch his breath when,
he spotted Elf Mage Captain Joy Pala standing beside the Elf Guards.
Even though Elf Elder Amos considered himself to have strong mental fortitude,
he was still profoundly shocked when he saw the fist-sized Magma Gemstone inlaid on Elf Mage Captain Joy Pala’s Magic Staff—the Crimson Staff.
And it wasn’t just Elf Elder Amos who was shocked.
The other Elf Mages who had come with him were just as stunned!
’To have a Magma Gemstone that large inlaid on a Magic Staff... ’
’Just how wealthy was this Elf Tribe?!’
’That one Magma Gemstone alone was worth enough to buy a third of their entire Elf Tribe!’
’This Elf Tribe, this Elf Corps... they’re far wealthier and more powerful than we imagined. We must not make an enemy of them!’
Elf Elder Amos had to admit,
that although he had already held this Elf Corps in high regard before arriving,
they had still managed to be even more astounding.
’It was as if this was how powerful Elves were always meant to be!’
What made Elf Elder Amos even more ashamed was that
when he heard the approaching footsteps,
he had unconsciously tensed up;
and his palms had begun to sweat.
’Great Elf God, who in the world is this person?’ Elf Elder Amos waited anxiously.
In truth,
Elf Elder Amos had already endured a long day. First, he experienced the "hospitality" of the unknown Elf Corps.
Then, after preparing reparations and making a long journey,
his Soul was already stretched to its absolute limit.
But when he truly laid eyes on Elf High Priest Shamiel, the shock he felt was beyond compare!
’Clothes make the man!’
’No matter the Clan, first impressions are crucial!’
’Zhang Yi wanted to overwhelm Elf Elder Amos and the tribe behind him, to lay the groundwork for the Elf Alliance he planned to create.’
’To do that, he had to make a powerful impact right from the start!’
That was why Zhang Yi, in Shamiel’s body, was now dressed in such a solemn and magnificent fashion.
She wore an Elf Robe woven from the wood of a Celestial Rong Ancient Tree, adorned with all manner of Magic Gemstones.
Holding a Magic Staff, she radiated an effortless authority.
The Elf Guards at her side only served to enhance her dignified presence.
Elf Elder Amos opened his mouth to speak but found that he had forgotten the words.
Following an introduction from one of the other Elves,
Elf Elder Amos learned,
that this person was the highest-ranking among them: Elf High Priest Shamiel.
Faced with such a figure, Elf Elder Amos would not dare be impolite.
In front of all the assembled Elves, he performed the most venerable of elven rites for Elf High Priest Shamiel—a full prostration!
"Greetings. I have never before seen an Elf Priest of such beauty. You shine like the stars in the heavens!"
With friendly cooperation in mind, Zhang Yi had Shamiel offer a simple gesture in return.
Before Zhang Yi could speak,
Elf Elder Amos, still kneeling, waved his hand behind him.
An elven carriage, brought from his Elf Tribe, was pushed forward.
’This gives me a good opportunity to observe the Elf Elder’s attire up close.’
’It’ll help me better assess the current state of elven society.’
’Plain Magic clothing, woven from plants, with no extra adornments.’
’Hmm, his power level is decent.’
’Fifth Level.’
’...’
All in all, they were at a stage equivalent to the Zhang Yi Divine Realm after its first major trial.
Zhang Yi made a silent resolution.
’I’ll be sure to give these distant elven brethren a proper welcome... and show them a little taste of what a truly advanced society looks like!’
