Game of the World Tree
Chapter 775
【 IS YOUR OWN ENERGY SPHERE DELICIOUS? 】
—
Southern Region of the Maple Moon Free State.
An enraged dragon’s roar echoed across the sky as the blood-soaked black dragon rolled wildly through the clouds like a maddened beast, entangled in battle against more than twenty Abyssal Myths.
Yet despite their overwhelming numerical advantage, the Abyssal Myths watched the frenzied black dragon with apprehension.
Within the world of Seigües, the power possessed by a true mythical dragon, even one standing only at the rank of Weaker Divine Power, was already terrifying beyond imagination.
Especially when that dragon had been completely enraged.
However, the Abyssal Myths were in no hurry.
After fighting for so long, even with the overwhelming vitality and regenerative power possessed by dragon bloodlines, the black dragon before them had already been pushed to the brink of his limits.
And the closer he came to collapse, the more vigilant the Abyssal Myths became.
A mythical dragon driven into a corner was the most terrifying kind of enemy.
Victory was already within sight, and none of the Abyssal Myths wished to capsize in the gutter at the very last moment.
Therefore, they avoided clashing head-on with the black dragon and instead continued to circle around him as waves of corrupted divine power surged from their bodies, carving fresh wounds into the dragon again and again.
“You despicable cowards! Evil monsters! Do any of you dare face me head-on?!”
Meryer’s aura was chaotic, his expression filled with fury. His eyes burned with fiery battle intent, showing not the slightest trace of retreat despite his grievous injuries.
Yet the Abyssal Myths merely sneered coldly and continued their steady siege without haste.
Until suddenly, an immense and overwhelming aura descended, followed by a cold voice trembling with suppressed anger from behind them:
“A bunch of useless trash! Twenty-one Myths, and after fighting for three days and three nights, you still have not managed to kill a dragon that only recently ascended to Mythical-rank?!”
Upon hearing that icy voice laden with fury, the Abyssal Myths could not help but shudder as a sinister and terrifying pressure swept across the entire battlefield.
The sky, which was already shrouded in dark clouds, instantly plunged into deeper darkness as a colossal shadow blotted out the heavens.
On the ground, the players stared in shock toward the southeastern sky.
There, above the heavens, a new demonic figure had appeared.
A savage serpent head covered in jagged spikes, a massive humanoid body built with brutal strength, and three pairs of black bat-like wings extending behind him, their wingspan likely nearing a thousand meters, obscuring the very sky itself…
It was the ruler of the Sixth Layer of Hell, the Second Demon Lord of the Abyss, the Evil God who governed over the Divinities of Wrath, Temptation, and Corruption: Samael.
Months had passed since the invasion of Seigües had began, and now the first Demon Lord had finally descended into the mortal realm.
His gaze swept across the increasingly sophisticated defensive fortifications of the elves below, a trace of disdain flashing through his pupils. But when his eyes shifted toward the Abyssal Myths battling the black dragon, Samael’s expression rapidly turned cold and furious.
“A bunch of trash.”
He snorted coldly and casually raised a hand.
Terrifying energy gathered within his palm, condensing into a purple-black sphere of light.
Then, with a flick of his finger, he directly launched it toward the one who appeared to have suffered the lightest injuries amongst the twenty-one Abyssal Myths.
The purple-black energy sphere shot forward and struck the target squarely in the back.
Under the horrified gazes of the other Abyssal Myths, that Abyssal Myth, whose strength had already reached the peak of demigod rank, exploded instantly into a rain of blood.
“Anyone who dares slack off shall be punished.”
Samael spoke coldly.
The remaining Abyssal Myths were horrified. Even upon their grotesque and hideous faces, a deathly pallor seemed to emerge.
After that, they no longer held back. Enduring their fear, they unleashed their full strength and charged toward the black dragon.
In an instant, Meryer, who was already on the verge of exhaustion, was pushed into an even greater peril.
“Hmph. That is more like it.”
Watching the Abyssal Myths regain their fighting spirit, some of the anger in Samael’s eyes finally faded.
After letting out a cold snort, he lowered his gaze toward the sprawling elven defensive line below.
Looking at the elves and humans, tiny as ants in his eyes, a powerful desire for destruction flashed across Samael’s face.
He let out a cold laugh and raised both hands once more. Terrifying purple-black spheres of energy rapidly condensed within his palms, while his gaze locked firmly onto the millions-strong allied elven army below.
“Be destroyed!”
He snarled as he hurled the purple-black energy sphere toward the ground.
Seeing his actions and sensing the increasingly horrifying power contained within the energy sphere, the players on the ground instantly paled.
In mere moments, panic and chaos spread throughout the entire defensive line.
However, just as Samael’s purple-black sphere blasted toward the ground, a translucent hexagonal barrier suddenly appeared above the ground, blocking the terrifying attack.
With a thunderous explosion, the energy sphere detonated against the barrier.
A scorching shockwave erupted outward like a raging typhoon. Even giant trees two meters thick were uprooted and hurled away, while enormous cracks rapidly spread across the battlefield, carving hideous ravines into the land itself…
Yet despite the devastation, the allied forces remained completely unharmed.
Then, a gentle sigh echoed from the distant horizon:
“Samael, is it not somewhat excessive for a mythical being such as yourself to target mortals directly?”
Hearing that voice, Samael’s eyes narrowed.
He looked over coldly and saw that above the elven allied army, directly before the black dragon Meryer, a handsome young man clad in silver robes had slowly appeared.
Silver hair.
Silver eyes.
An aura vast as the sea itself.
Looking at the other party’s iconic silver dragon pupils, Samael let out a cold laugh.
“Reinhardt, are you trying to force your ridiculous principles onto us Abyssal Myths? How naive. Or do you truly believe that a mere Divine Incarnation of yours is enough to stop my army?”
Facing Samael’s mocking gaze, the Platinum Dragon King Reinhardt remained calm.
However, deep within his eyes lay unmistakable gravity.
Seeing Reinhardt appear, a trace of surprise and joy flashed through Meryer’s eyes.
“F-Father!”
The Platinum Dragon King Reinhardt gently turned around and smiled faintly.
“Meryer, you have grown up.”
“Father!”
Meryer’s expression was filled with excitement.
“Go and rest for a while. You’re in terrible shape.”
Reinhardt spoke calmly.
Meryer hesitated for a moment and glanced toward the Abyssal Myths on the demon side, as though he wished to say something.
But in the end, he merely nodded lightly and descended back toward the ground.
Throughout the entire process, not a single one of the twenty Abyssal Myths dared to stop him.
The name of the Platinum Dragon King Reinhardt was even more renowned than that of the Goddess of Life.
This dragon god, who had become famous countless tens of thousands of years ago, had slain an untold number of Abyssal Myths over the ages.
The expressions of the Abyssal Myths were filled with fear and caution as they slowly retreated to Samael’s side.
Meanwhile, Samael narrowed his eyes and suddenly let out a cold sneer before his figure vanished instantly.
Reinhardt’s expression changed slightly.
His body flickered as he hastily attempted to evade.
However, before he could fully dodge, Samael had already appeared directly above him and smashed down with a punch.
Accompanied by a deafening explosion, terrifying energy waves erupted outward as the Platinum Dragon King was hurled violently into the ground, kicking up endless clouds of dust.
Even the nearby fortified walls built by the players collapsed beneath the terrifying shockwave, plunging the battlefield into chaos.
When the dust finally settled, a gigantic crater hundreds of meters wide had already formed upon the earth.
Reinhardt staggered to his feet, already grievously injured.
He spat out a mouthful of silver dragon blood, his gaze toward Samael growing increasingly solemn.
“The true body of a Demon Lord…”
Then, gritting his teeth, he transformed into an elegant silver dragon and let out a thunderous roar as he charged toward the Demon Lord.
Looking at the incoming silver dragon, Samael’s eyes were filled with mockery.
As a Demon Lord possessing immense divine power, he feared nothing, not even Reinhardt’s true form, let alone an incarnation.
With a savage grin, he threw another punch.
A terrifying explosion rang out as Samael’s fist struck the silver dragon’s body directly, sending him flying like a ragged sack and crashing through several mountain peaks before finally coming to a halt.
By the time Reinhardt rose into the sky once more, the effort had already become extraordinarily difficult.
“Hmph, Reinhardt, if only you had come with your true body, then perhaps you could have exchanged a few blows with me. But relying on a mere incarnation? Heh…”
Samael sneered mockingly.
Then his pupils turned crimson as his gaze descended toward the ground below, filled with bloodthirsty desire.
“If I remember correctly, you can’t stand seeing mortals harmed. In that case, I shall make you watch helplessly as this entire land is destroyed!”
Samael laughed viciously and pointed toward the sky.
The dark clouds instantly churned violently as massive amounts of Abyssal power gathered continuously. Bolts of lightning slithered across the skies above Maple Moon like countless serpents.
At this moment, even space itself began to tear apart completely.
An unprecedented concentration of terrifying energy rapidly gathered, surpassing even the limits the world itself could endure, condensing into dark purple spheres of apocalyptic destruction that rained toward the earth.
A being with Higher Divine Power possessed the strength to overturn the very table itself.
For a masterless high-level realm like the Seigües World, even though its seal restricted the world’s energy level, as long as their true body could descend, a Mythical being could theoretically unleash power beyond the limits of those seals.
The consequences, however, were equally severe.
The damage, or even outright destruction, of the world itself.
“This is bad!”
Sensing the horrifying power capable of annihilating the entire Maple Moon Territory, or even shattering the continent itself, Reinhardt’s expression drastically changed.
At the same time, several ancient auras rose from the distant east and rapidly sped toward the battlefield.
Samael discreetly glanced eastward, a trace of surprise flashing across his face.
But that surprise quickly transformed into a cold sneer.
Looking down upon the fertile mountains and plains below, a gleam of savage satisfaction appeared within his eyes.
Avoid damaging Seigües as much as possible and pull it intact into the Abyss?
Heh.
He was not one of Helel’s subordinates, so why should he obey such orders?
This was the territory of the Goddess of Life!
Only by utterly destroying everything here could he vent the hatred in his heart after she destroyed his incarnation and seized his divine artifact.
As for conquering Seigües?
As a being with Higher Divine Power, he was already completely satisfied with his status. Everything else, he simply did not care about.
As long as he could release this hatred, no one would be allowed to stop him!
Samael roared furiously and hurled every single dark purple energy sphere downward.
In an instant, the entire sky transformed into a scene straight out of the apocalypse.
Watching the endlessly enlarging, rotating purple-black sphere descending from the heavens and sensing the horrifying energy contained within them, the allied elven army on the ground fell into terror, while the players themselves stared blankly in shock.
Li Mu looked up at the ever-growing energy sphere in utter disbelief. The violent winds were so fierce that he could barely keep his eyes open.
And within his mind, only a single thought remained:
Is… is the world about to be destroyed and the server reset? 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝕨𝕖𝗯𝚗𝚘𝕧𝕖𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝕞
Goddess!
Where are you?!
“Hurry… please hurry!”
A surge of anxious emotion flashed through Li Mu’s heart.
And as though his prayers had been heard, dazzling golden radiance suddenly erupted across the battlefield.
Above the players’ heads, a golden triumphal arch gate slowly emerged, shining with sacred brilliance.
An enormous force of attraction surged forth from within it, and one after another, the terrifying energy sphere were drawn directly into the gate.
Seeing the arch gate that suddenly appeared, Samael’s expression changed in shock.
“The Gate of Reversal?!”
However, before he could say anything further, an identical arch gate suddenly appeared beneath him as well, and one dark purple energy sphere after another burst forth from within it.
The Abyssal Myths were horrified and hurriedly scattered to evade.
Yet as the primary target, Samael himself was firmly locked in place.
Under his furious and astonished gaze, the world ending spheres he had personally unleashed moments before smashed directly into him one after another.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
A succession of terrifying explosions erupted.
Dark and profound radiance burst outward in every direction as the entire sky ignited. Explosions even more horrifying than nuclear detonations erupted where Samael stood, accompanied by unprecedented waves of energy.
At that moment, the magical shockwaves surged outward like a colossal tsunami, transforming into layer after layer of devastating ripples that tore through space itself and birthed violent storms.
The vast destructive force spread in all directions with the power to annihilate everything in its path.
Several unfortunate Abyssal Myths at the demigod rank were caught within the blast radius. Amidst shrill screams, their bodies were instantly shredded into fragments, while even their divine souls were devoured by the raging energy, causing them to instantly perish right there on the spot.
The earth trembled.
The world wailed.
Cracks spread across the sky like a massive spiderweb, as though the very heavens itself were on the verge of shattering apart.
The players stared at the scene in utter shock, already too stunned to speak.
The vast and terrifying spectacle before them exceeded mortal imagination itself, more dreadful than any game, any movie, or any fabricated illusion they had ever witnessed.
“My God… is this what the true power of a Mythical being is like?”
They muttered in disbelief.
The cracks in the sky continued to spread.
Terrifying void storms poured inward from beyond the fractured skies.
An apocalyptic energy tempest began to engulf the world.
However, at the very next moment, an ethereal and sacred voice echoed directly within everyone’s hearts:
“Restore.”
Accompanied by distant and holy hymns, golden light slowly rose into the heavens.
Under the excited gazes of the players, space itself rippled across the sky as golden particles gathered together, forming a figure so familiar that they could recognize it instantly.
Sacred.
Beautiful.
Noble.
And incomparably powerful.
It was Evé.
“The Goddess! It’s definitely the Goddess! The Goddess has finally descended!”
“Praise the Goddess!”
Cheers erupted from across the battlefield below.
Evé stood high in the sky, the Crown of Nature upon her head shining with hazy divine brilliance as golden radiance enveloped the sky.
In the next instant, countless dazzling green particles began to dance gracefully through the air.
As those green motes brushed across the shattered sky, the spiderweb-like cracks slowly began to close, rapidly restoring themselves to their original state.
In the blink of an eye, the sky on the verge of collapse were completely fixed beneath Eve’s casual whisper.
At this moment, the explosions gradually subsided, and Samael’s figure finally reappeared.
However, compared to before the detonation, most of the armor covering his body had already shattered apart. The hair atop his head was scorched black, his aura unstable, and his entire appearance incomparably disheveled.
Looking at his appearance, which resembled someone who had just been struck by heavenly lightning, Evé smiled faintly.
“How was it? Is your own energy sphere delicious?”
Samael’s gaze remained somewhat vacant, as though he still had not fully recovered from the previous explosion.
But when his eyes finally shifted toward the culprit responsible, his crimson pupils rapidly filled with fury and venomous hatred.
“Goddess of Life—Evé!!!”
Grinding his teeth, he let out a furious roar.
