Fated love: the unwanted bride
Chapter 2387: I Already Considered You My Daughter
Jasmine Yale’s brow and eyes were gentle, like a breeze brushing through the willows.
Sylvan Cheney’s hand paused as he buttoned his shirt and looked at her: "Why not sleep a little longer."
"I just happened to wake up."
"Are you going home this morning?"
"Mm, you don’t have to worry about me. I will take good care of myself. I must learn to give myself a sense of security."
Sylvan Cheney furrowed his brows.
He didn’t quite understand what she meant by that.
Jasmine Yale raised her hand, still smiling: "I’ll help you with that."
"I can do it myself, you go back to sleep; there’s no rush."
Jasmine Yale’s hand, resting atop the blanket, stiffened. She pressed her lips together and said nothing more.
Sylvan Cheney turned his head, taking a striped tie out of the cabinet, and skillfully tied it.
From Jasmine Yale’s angle, she could see the side of his face, handsome and clear, the lines taut. That attractive face bore an indifferent expression, not too expressive.
After tying his tie, Sylvan Cheney glanced at her: "I won’t be home for breakfast today; I’m heading to the office."
"You don’t have to tell me; just remember to eat. Skipping breakfast is bad for your stomach, and your stomach isn’t that great either."
"I know." Sylvan Cheney donned his coat, "Then I’ll head to the office first. Remember to have breakfast when you wake up. If there’s anything, just call me."
"In the future... if I ask you out, will you still come?" Jasmine Yale looked at him, her expression calm, with not much emotion in her eyes.
"What’s wrong?" Sylvan Cheney looked at her.
"Nothing, it’s just that you’re busy with work, and I don’t know if you’ll still have time for me."
"If I’m not busy, I’ll call you."
"Oh, okay, I understand. I’ll get some more sleep."
Jasmine Yale said nothing more, lying back down and closing her eyes, hugging the blanket.
She wasn’t the least bit sleepy, but while awake, she didn’t know what to say to Sylvan Cheney, so she might as well rest her eyes.
Seeing her go back to sleep, Sylvan Cheney moved much more quietly.
Soon after, he left the bedroom and the apartment.
His presence slowly faded from the air.
With her eyes closed, Jasmine Yale was surrounded by silence, hearing nothing.
It was another clear day.
...
Since that day, Jasmine Yale moved back to her own home.
Butler Santana didn’t quite understand, but when Jasmine Yale mentioned it was due to Mr. Cheney’s busy work, she believed it. 𝐟𝕣𝕖𝐞𝐰𝕖𝚋𝐧𝗼𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝗰𝐨𝐦
That noon, Butler Santana brewed some hot tea and made snacks for Jasmine Yale.
"Miss Yale, it’s nice to be home too. I can take care of you. I always feared Mr. Cheney might not be as attentive; after all, he is a man, and hasn’t served others like I have."
"Yes, I even complained he wasn’t taking good care of me, so I came back." Jasmine Yale laughed, "But you, Butler Santana, are the best."
"Then stay here, it’s all the same to me."
"Once the baby is born, you might be very, very busy, Butler Santana."
"It’s okay, I’ve long considered you like a daughter. I will certainly take good care of your baby."
"Butler Santana, you have things to do, don’t you? Didn’t you say you had to help watch a shop this afternoon?"
"Yes, I have to head over soon. It’s nearby, not far at all," Butler Santana replied, "If you need anything, call me, and I’ll come back immediately. If not, feel free to wander around nearby malls or parks, just don’t catch a cold."
"Mm, I understand, you go ahead!"
Butler Santana really liked Jasmine Yale because Jasmine was so sensible.
Spending time with Jasmine Yale never felt tiring at all.
