Fantasy Lord: Beginning with Daily Intelligence
Chapter 452 - 271: Red Dragon Duke: WTF
[Daily Intelligence Updated]
[1: Due to the sudden arrival of a mysterious Half-Step Sanctuary, the Red Dragon Duke from the Red Dragon Duchy led his Knight Order to withdraw from the conflict with the Liepuer Clan. As they were about to leave, they were ambushed by two Duke Families from the Macedonian Kingdom. The Red Dragon Duke drove them back but suffered heavy losses. While attempting to recuperate, they accidentally stumbled into the nest of a Tier Five Magical Beast. Seven hours later, the severely injured Red Dragon Duke, along with three Sky Knight Peak and less than ten percent of his Knight Order, managed to escape, moving towards the North Side, only to unexpectedly encounter a group of Earth-bound Dragons....]
The words appeared clearly, and even Thor couldn’t help but twitch his lips when he saw them last night.
Since leaving yesterday, it seems as though the God of Misfortune has descended upon this Red Dragon Duke, casting him into utter misery.
First, he was ambushed by two Duke Families, then he directly confronted the nest of a Tier Five Magical Beast. After narrowly escaping, he faced a group of Earth-bound Dragons again.
After such a string of encounters, this Red Dragon Duke would probably feel utterly exhausted even if he managed to survive.
Of course, aside from his twitching lips, Thor’s mind began to spin into action.
In normal circumstances, even if both the Dressrosa Family and the Liepuer Clan joined forces, they might not be able to swallow the Red Dragon Duke, but if the Red Dragon Duke suffered heavy losses, then the situation would be completely different.
After these series of encounters, how much of the Red Dragon Duke’s strength could possibly remain?
Naturally, Count Engel was unaware of these developments.
But even if he was unaware, he had experienced his son’s brilliance. So, when Thor mentioned these incidents, Count Engel’s pupils couldn’t help but contract sharply.
"Is what you’re saying true?"
Count Engle’s breathing became noticeably heavier.
"Father, yesterday the Red Dragon Duke was likely attacked by two Dukes from Macedonia. Although he repelled them, he inadvertently entered the nest of a Tier Five Magical Beast afterward."
Facing Count Engle’s words and his excited gaze, Thor calmly narrated the events that had transpired, as per the daily intelligence.
"Tier Five Magical Beast!"
"Gulp!"
Hearing Thor’s words, even Count Engle couldn’t help but swallow.
Count Engle naturally understood the horror of Tier Five Magical Beasts.
The Red Dragon Duke, let alone battling two Dukes and incurring damages, would likely suffer tremendous losses even during his peak facing a Tier Five Magical Beast. The consequences at this moment needed no further thought.
"Let’s go!"
"Thor, we should go to Duke Liepuer to take our leave!"
Count Engle breathed heavily, his words direct and filled with excitement, as he strode off into the distance.
Thor followed with a smile, quickly catching up.
Soon, the two of them met with Old Duke Liepuer.
"Oh, you’re leaving?"
Hearing Count Engle’s words, Old Duke Liepuer looked a bit surprised.
"Yes, Duke Liepuer, this time we need to meet up with the Knight Order. My son also needs to reunite with his Knight Order. We’ve troubled you for quite some time."
Count Engle nodded with a smile.
"I see!"
"In that case, alright!"
"But remember, don’t miss the gathering time, or you won’t get another chance."
Old Duke Liepuer nodded slightly, not pressing further.
Since they weren’t from the same clan, Old Duke Liepuer naturally wouldn’t stop Count Engle from leaving.
Moreover, concerning the Law Fragment held by Count Engle, having formed an alliance, it naturally belonged to Count Engle. Old Duke Liepuer wouldn’t dwell much on it.
Furthermore, the following matters were more significant. While the Law Fragment might be significant to others, it wasn’t considered much by the Liepuer Clan.
It was only the grand Law Fragment possessed by the Red Dragon Duke or with additional noble status that would be sufficiently enticing to Old Duke Liepuer. 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝚠𝚎𝚋𝗻𝗼𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝚘𝐦
"Grandfather, isn’t the Dressrosa Family just a Count’s Clan, are you sure?"
As Thor and the others left, Sakre Liepuer voiced his hesitation.
"Sakre, your judgment is still lacking. Haven’t you noticed that Count Engle’s aura has surpassed yours?"
Old Duke Liepuer shook his head, sighing lightly as he spoke.
"Surpassed me?"
Sakre Liepuer was stunned for a moment, then his pupils grew wide.
"Not only Count Engle, but even his son might already be an Earth Knight."
"An Earth Knight under thirty is a top genius that could join the Imperial Canaan Academy, what a pity."
Old Duke Liepuer couldn’t help but sigh as he spoke.
Although he couldn’t sense Thor’s aura, Old Duke Liepuer could determine through observation that Thor must have reached the level of an Earth Knight.
This realization undoubtedly surprised him.
A twenty-year-old Earth Knight. Such talent would be dazzling not just in the Tulip Kingdom but even within the Empire. (Although Thor revealed Earth Knight Peak strength, it was in the Northern Province, and the Duke Families generally didn’t pay attention to the Northern Province. Most in the Northern Province also weren’t clear about Thor’s age.)
"Grandfather, this—!"
Sakre Liepuer instinctively said.
"Sakre, go and make arrangements to include the Dressrosa Family in the alliance!"
"Additionally, send a message to have Kalenina and the others speed up, there’s not much time left. If this drags on, we might run out of opportunities."
Old Duke Liepuer didn’t concern himself with what his son thought, giving his instructions decisively.
"Yes!"
Sakre Liepuer quickly collected himself, nodded, and promptly set about handling the arrangements.
Once Sakre left, Old Duke Liepuer finally withdrew his gaze.
"Canaan Academy, this semester should be nearing its end. I wonder if Thirteen will be able to stay. If so, our Liepuer Clan might see more hope."
Old Duke Liepuer spoke softly, a sigh escaping his expression.
Even he knew that staying was an immensely challenging feat.
In the Imperial Canaan Academy, staying required a breakthrough to Sky Knight before the age of sixty, and even then, it was just the bare minimum. Breaking through to Sky Knight before sixty didn’t guarantee retention.
Even within the Empire, the difficulty of this challenge was exceedingly high.
Unless one mirrored that top genius at Canaan Academy years ago—becoming an Official Knight at fifteen, a Great Knight at twenty, reaching Earth Knight at thirty-five, achieving Sky Knight at forty-eight, and peaking at Sky Knight at sixty—they would have no certainty.
Recalling that figure, Old Duke Liepuer sighed deeply once more.
His son once had the promise to connect with that individual, but unfortunately, they seemingly encountered an incident several years ago, vanishing without a trace.
His son missed the best opportunity.
His thoughts whirled.
Old Duke Liepuer’s mind wandered there unconsciously.
However, these concerns no longer pertained to Thor and the others.
Upon taking their leave from Old Duke Liepuer, the group set off once again.
Their destination being where the Red Dragon Duke was located.
Or more accurately, the location described in the daily intelligence regarding the Red Dragon Duke.
