Evolution Online: Building a Kingdom with 100\% drop rate
Chapter 121: Ch-: Returning to Estate
Woosh.
Victor, Lilith, Amber, and the group of women they had rescued teleported directly to the edge of the territory, but the moment they saw the scene before them, their expressions changed.
" Damn it," Victor growled, his jaw clenching when he saw the huge horde of beasts attacking his territory. He looked around and sighed in relief when he saw the force field was still intact, and except for a few mechs destroyed and soldiers killed, the rest of them were fine.
" Lilith, check the status of the defense," Victor said as he looked at Lilith on his shoulder.
" Yes, Sir Victor." Lilith’s eyes glowed blue for a moment before she replied, " Sir, all the cores used for missiles have been depleted and need recharging, and shield integrity has dropped by 40%."
" Huff." Victor sighed as the defense had worked properly. He had specifically bought such powerful defenses as he already knew about the Apocalypse, then muttered, " Still, a 40% drop just shows how much more dangerous the other races are compared to beasts."
Victor shook his head. If it were humans, even Warlocks, he doubted they could bring the hit points of the force field down by even 10%, even if they bombarded it nonstop for a full day. But the frenzied beasts had done it within less than an hour.
" Victor, look, more beasts are rushing in," Amber said with a frown as she pointed into the distance. She had already started mobilizing her ice powers.
" Wait, let me try something," Victor said, his eyes glinting as he checked the sword in his hand.
"Moonlight Slash," Victor muttered as he launched a slash made of white light. He rarely used this skill, but he wanted to check the effect of the attack while wearing the armor.
Victor noticed giant arcs of electricity crackling around the white slash as it charged toward the rushing horde, and then—
BOOM!
Sizzle!
As soon as the attack made contact with the horde of monsters, large amounts of Black Lightning erupted from the blast.
" This..." Victor’s eyes widened when he saw the next scene. Some of the beasts that were far away from the blast seemed to be struck by tiny arcs of lightning that entered their bodies. The arcs were far too weak to cause any visible damage, but the next moment, their bodies turned stiff and they started melting. Not only that, but even the vegetation grazed by the lightning arcs seemed to lose its life and started withering.
" Heavens, how powerful is this poison?" Amber’s mouth hung open. She was not shocked by the destructive power of his attack, but by the venom.
" How did you know my attack carried poisonous effects?" Victor asked with a raised eyebrow.
" Who do you think I am?" Amber shot back, and Victor fell silent. Of course she knew. Amber, who had once been a vicious woman before meeting him, must have killed many victims with poison.
" Hey, who are you?" one of the soldiers, seeing an unfamiliar figure clad in white armor, rushed toward him and pointed their mechs at him.
"Huh, Lady Amber!" one of the soldiers in the mech recognized her instantly. The rumors had already spread about Victor and Amber’s relationship, and many had been uneasy at first, but when Amber participated in the fight against the Black Church, her reputation had improved.
"It’s me," Victor said as the helmet vanished.
"Lord Victor, you’re back! Thank the heavens!" one of the soldiers hurriedly rushed toward Victor.
"Where is Edward? Is he fine?" Victor asked.
"Yes, he is fighting some beasts on the northwestern side," the soldier within the mech said.
"Amber, you take these women inside. I will go help Edward," Victor said as Amber nodded and watched him turn into lightning and vanish.
Victor arrived at the western front and saw, in the distance approximately 5 kilometers to the west, several luminous explosions joining the lightning in the sky to illuminate the surroundings. Shattered rocks were flying everywhere, and parts of a large forest were being cleared at astonishing speeds.
It was plain to see that this was where the fight was taking place. Victor moved closer and caught a glimpse of what was happening.
He could see large groups of magical beasts charging toward the path leading to the Silvernum territory, but they were blocked by the soldiers. However, the magical beasts were not having much success, as they had barely gotten within 500 meters of the territory when thousands of missiles, bullets, and various attacks rained down on their bodies, and only those with the toughest hides or defensive skills managed to continue charging.
---------
Edward’s eyes lit up, and he nodded his head excitedly. "Not bad, not a single one could enter."
"Commander, multiple Tier 3s!"
The words Edward was about to say were cut short when a soldier shouted loudly as he pointed toward the back of the group of magical beasts, where hundreds of skeletal horses with bone wings appeared. The aura they radiated made their faces turn deathly pale.
Everyone’s expressions changed abruptly when they saw them flying hundreds of meters in an instant and rapidly approaching the base.
"Quickly start firing missiles from the defensive formation!" Edward shouted hoarsely.
"We are out of mana cores! It will take some time to refill with new ones!" the soldier said with fearful eyes.
"Damn, we don’t have time! All mechs, start firing!" Edward shouted as he was hit by a wave of despair. He could hold off one, but holding back more than one Tier 3 was impossible... he was certain he would die along with the Silvernum territory today.
’At least the Lord is not here... I hope he remains safe outside and starts a family with young lady Amber,’ he thought with a sigh.
He reminisced that only a few minutes ago, he had been training the soldiers and raiding private dungeons in the Silvernum territory, but all of a sudden, he felt the mana increase and rushed out from the dungeon, only to see hordes of monsters attacking the territory. Even after they were killed, they would rise up again, which made them even harder to deal with.
Boom! Boom! Boom! 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝙚𝔀𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝒐𝒎
The missiles and bullets from the mechs boomed almost simultaneously.
"Oh no... fuck, it’s over," Edward fell on his buttocks when he saw a tear in the sky and thousands of skeletal horses with bone wings rushing toward them. They were already having trouble dealing with a few dozen, and now even more had arrived.
