Eternal Cultivation of Alchemy
Chapter 3554: Evolved Body
"Huh?" the Sky God reacted. "They already know? How?"
Alex contemplated for the briefest moment before deciding to tell her the truth. It wasn’t as though she wouldn’t find out about it sooner anyway.
"You are surely aware of the Moon Goddess, aren’t you?" Alex asked. "I met someone with the Moon Goddess’s body on my journey in the beast realms, and she now knows about the tree."
The Sky God’s eyes shot wide open.
"Why would you do that?" she asked. "Now the demons know about the tree."
"Yes," Alex said. "So you can’t hide it from them like you originally planned to, Your Majesty. They will fight back if we try to do so."
The Sky God held a rather annoyed look as she crossed her arms and fell into deep thought. She had to think of a way out of this somehow, but she simply could not.
"Was there a reason why you did that?" she asked. "Had you already foreseen this possibility and wanted to foil my plans somehow?"
"No," Alex said. "I simply did so because I trusted her."
"Why would you trust her? You said she’s a demon," the Sky God argued.
"Because she has the Moon Goddess’ body. I can’t help but trust her," Alex said.
The Sky God didn’t know what to say. She could only sigh and think of something now.
"It wasn’t as bad as you’re thinking it might be, though," he explained. "Her presence helped the World Tree in the end, which partially leads me to my second point."
"What point?"
"The World Tree now holds a consciousness. It can communicate through spiritual sense," Alex said.
The Sky God froze before slowly looking at him. "Is that true?" 𝕗𝐫𝐞𝕖𝕨𝐞𝗯𝚗𝕠𝘃𝐞𝚕.𝐜𝗼𝚖
"Not only does she communicate, she is smart enough to tell friends from enemies," Alex said. "It would be unwise to do anything to hurt her feelings."
The Sky God’s emotions seemed to change in that moment. While they had been mostly negative just moments ago, she now had a more positive look about her.
"Does she talk to you frequently?" she asked.
"From time to time," Alex said. "I don’t get to interact with her that much, so Whisker takes care of her in my stead. He is the true caretaker of the two trees, if I am to be truthful."
"The mouse?"
Alex nodded. "That is not to say that my relationship with the World Tree isn’t close. Part of the reason why I am asking you not to replant the World Tree somewhere else is simple. The World Tree considers the Sun God, me, her father. And I feel as though I am her father. As such, I do not wish to part with her, at least not right away."
The Sky God held a strange expression on her face in that moment that even Bladedance couldn’t understand. Her gaze fixated on Alex for a long time, making him wonder just what it was that she was thinking.
After a long while, her senses reached Alex, and through it she spoke directly into his mind.
"Has your Sun God’s body evolved yet again?"
Alex couldn’t understand how she had reached the truth from the bare facts he had provided. He hadn’t even given the slightest inkling to another body evolution, had he?
She should have been aware of the first one since he had told Senior Yang about it. But how did she figure out the second one?
"I’m right, aren’t I?" she asked again.
Alex could have lied in that moment, and maybe the Sky God would be forced to believe it, albeit with some doubts. However, given the fact that he desperately needed her help to learn more about himself, he could only tell her the truth.
"Yes," he answered openly. "My body has indeed evolved."
Bladedance held a strange look on her face upon seeing what Alex said. She couldn’t help but wonder if, in her place, she would have revealed that.
"What grade is it now?" the Sky God asked.
"If your disciples’ grading system is to be trusted, I started with a Divine grade body, which I evolved to the Celestial grade by consuming the fruit of the Nine Yang Divine Tree. And after my journey through the beast realm and chancing upon an opportunity, it has improved to the God grade."
Newheaven sucked in a deep breath upon hearing that. "A God grade body," she said, her mind swimming with torrents of thoughts, the strongest of which was the fact that the likelihood of Alex’s Half-God status had something to do with the current grade of his body.
Never in her life had she known of someone with a God grade body. She herself only had a Celestial grade body, and it was easily one of the rarest bodies ever to be found.
In the past hundreds of thousands of years, there had only ever been a handful of people with the Sky God’s physique, of which only 3 had made their way to the Sky God’s palace.
Someone with a God grade body was even rarer. Perhaps, since the beginning of time, not counting the two True Gods or the 15 Primordials, Alex was the first person with a God grade body constitution.
"A God grade body could explain a lot of things in retrospect," the Sky God said. "It could be the reason why you can absorb Primordial energy in the first place."
Alex agreed with her to some extent. That was likely a key to it, but not the main one.
"Circling back to the topic at hand, what are your thoughts on the trees now, Senior?" Alex asked.
The Sky God took a moment to think before coming up with some words.
"You can keep the World Tree for now. It might be safer with you," she said. "But the Nine Yang Divine Tree must be returned to the Nine Yang Court. In fact, I shall send them the message as soon as we are done here."
Alex nodded. "I agree with your choices."
