Endless Extraction in a Game-Like World
Chapter 138 - 2.3 Million Origin Credits! The Artificer and Miner Professions accquired
As soon as they arrived back in the real world, Sylvia went ahead to the kitchen to prepare breakfast for them.
While she cooked, Caelus checked the status of his automated Blacksmith Factory Simulator.

[Ore Depository: 200/200]1
[Blacksmith Profession (Tier 2: Bronze II) (25,000/25,000 EXP) (Capped)]
By now, the blacksmith profession had already reached the capped status due to the factory producing goods.
Around the factory floor, small automated drones buzzed back and forth, taking the weapons to customers and getting the ores required for the factory.
"Now is a good time to install the robotic arm and fully automate the sorting process," Caelus muttered.
[Engineer Profession (Tier 2: Bronze II) (5,000/25,000 EXP)]
His Engineer profession was sitting comfortably at Bronze II. He was confident he could trace down the necessary inscription patterns to make the robotic prototype fully functional.
The prototype was a mechanical arm designed to detect loose ores on the floor and deposit them into the dropbox. It functioned on a standard electrical motherboard and circuit. However, to make it self-sustaining, he needed to carve a Mana Gathering Inscription and connect its physical chassis to the internal circuitry.
An inscription pen materialized in his hand. He began precisely tracing complex magical runes along the unassembled metal parts. Once he finished the final stroke, the runes flared with a soft blue light.
Like magnets drawn to a core, the scattered parts assembled themselves flawlessly. The robotic arm mounted itself onto the center console of the factory. To test it, Caelus tossed a piece of raw ore onto the ground. The arm whirred to life, immediately tracked the ore, picked it up, and dropped it perfectly into the dropbox.

Satisfied, Caelus left the interface and took his time enjoying a warm breakfast with Sylvia. Afterward, they headed down to the mansion’s dedicated training room to practice their Aura.
Caelus activated the room’s built-in gravity manipulation function, cranking up the pressure before beginning his circulation exercises. All high-end luxury mansions in Fortis City came equipped with these specialized training features.
A few hours later, a burst of energy rippled through the room.
He had successfully broken through to Aura Rank 15. His total Aura pool reached a solid 40/40.
He spent the next hour assisting Sylvia in circulating her own Aura, helping her climb the ranks as well.
Once their morning training was complete, they dressed up and headed out into the city.
Their itinerary for the day was simple: buy some new furniture and clothes for the house, and visit the Order Organization in District C to purchase some new Profession Cards. Most importantly, Caelus needed the Miner profession.
However, when they entered the massive Order Organization establishment, they were met with silence. The grand lobby was completely empty. A single employee sat behind the counter, lazily fanning himself out of sheer boredom.
"A customer!" The employee bolted upright, nearly tripping over his chair as he rushed to greet them. "Welcome! What brings you both here today?"
"We are here to look at some Profession Cards," Caelus said.
"I see! Right this way, please. They are located on the third floor," the employee said, eagerly guiding them to the elevator. "Honestly, we are thrilled to have anyone walk through those doors. Due to Player 555 completely crashing the market with his weapons and runes, no one comes to the Order Organization to buy weapons or runes anymore. At this rate, our branch might have to shut down entirely!"
Caelus froze mid-step.
Sylvia instantly covered her mouth, giggling softly by his side. As the worker walked ahead into the elevator, she gently nudged Caelus with a highly playful look in her red eyes.
"Look at what you have done, Mr. Player 555. You almost bankrupted them," she whispered teasingly.
Caelus could only smile wryly and shake his head.
Soon, they reached the third floor. A row of pristine, golden Profession Cards sat behind a reinforced glass display. The worker walked behind the counter and presented several velvet boxes containing the different class options.
"These are the currently available Profession Cards, young master. Please take a look."
The labels read: Farming, Engineer, Potion Maker, Herb Gatherer, Miner, Blacksmith, Beast Tamer, Appraiser, Mapper, and Artificer.
Caelus’s eyes immediately locked onto the Artificer card. It was a highly sought-after profession that allowed an Awakened to craft magical accessories and utility items.
He currently had one accessory on him that allowed him to steal stamina, but it was only Iron rank. It had become entirely obsolete after he awakened his Aura, and it had completely failed to work in the Land of Snow due to the Frostbite debuff suppressing its regeneration.
He wanted to forge his own high-tier Undying Token, a one-time life-saving treasure. 𝒻𝓇𝑒𝘦𝘸𝑒𝒷𝓃ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝒸ℴ𝘮
"I will take the Miner and Artificer cards," Caelus said.
"Then, I will take the Appraiser card," Sylvia added.
"Excellent choices! Will that be cash or card, sir?" the employee asked with a bright smile.
"Card." Caelus pulled out his phone. "Do you take tap to pay?"
"Yes, we do."
Out of pure curiosity, Caelus opened his banking app to check his current balance before tapping. The following instant, he became completely flabbergasted.
[Current Balance: 2,352,436 Origin Credits]
Caelus almost dropped his phone in shock. Sylvia leaned over to peek at the screen and was equally left speechless. He had made an absolute fortune selling those weapons.
Sighing in mild disbelief at his own wealth, he tapped his phone against the terminal. The cards cost them 100,000 Origin Credits each.
Once their business was concluded, they spent the rest of the afternoon on a proper date. They bought high-end clothes, grabbed lunch, and even went to a private theater to watch a movie.
As they were walking out of the theater, Sylvia’s phone suddenly vibrated.
She picked it up. It was Chairman Welt.
"Sylvia, your brother is currently here at the Player Association conversing with my daughter. You should come over," Chairman Welt’s voice sounded slightly strained through the speaker. "He said he wanted to discuss matters regarding your university enrollment."
"What about Caelus?" Sylvia asked, glancing up at him.
"I think it is best if you do not show up with him right now. Your brother seems to be in a highly foul mood," Chairman Welt advised.
Sylvia ended the call and looked at Caelus apologetically.
He simply nodded with an understanding smile. "Go see your brother. I will head back home."
Sylvia swiftly kissed his cheek and hailed a private transport.
Once she was gone, Caelus began walking back toward the Dragon Luxury Estate. However, a few blocks into his walk, his heightened senses picked up a subtle disturbance in the energy behind him.
’I’m being tailed.’
Caelus did not let a single shift in emotion show on his face. Instead of heading toward the crowded main streets, he deliberately altered his route. He took a sharp turn into an abandoned industrial sector, eventually walking straight into a deep, camera-free, dead-end alleyway.
He stopped and turned around.
Two men wearing discreet, detective-style trench coats stepped out from the shadows, blocking the only exit. They looked at him with sheer mockery.
"You really are one dumb kid," the first man sneered, pulling out a pair of brass knuckles. "To think you would actually wander into a dead-end alleyway on your own. You just made our job ten times easier."
"Who sent you?" Caelus asked calmly, slipping his hands into his pockets.
"A dead man does not need to know that!" the second man shouted.
He instantly closed the distance, his fist erupting in roaring flames. He was a Peak Bronze III Awakened. He delivered a ferocious, blazing punch directly toward the center of Caelus’s chest, aiming to cave his ribs in.
However... Caelus simply stood there and let the punch connect.
BAM!
The flaming fist landed squarely. But the very next instant, both assassins’ expressions twisted in absolute horror.
"Y-You... what?" The attacker gasped, his flaming fist trembling against Caelus’s perfectly intact shirt.
Caelus smiled at the terrified man. He casually raised his hand and slapped him.
SLAP!
BOOM!
The sheer, monstrous stat difference between a Silver II and a Bronze III was absolute. The man’s figure was launched through the air like a broken ragdoll. He slammed headfirst into the brick wall. His skull cracked instantly, and he fell to the ground completely lifeless.
"You shouldn’t show this much killing intent toward someone unless you are prepared to die yourself," Caelus said softly.
The remaining assassin took a staggering step back, his eyes wide with pure terror. What did he just witness? A young student just casually swatted a Peak Bronze III veteran and killed him with a single slap!
"Y-You monster! What are you?!" he shrieked, scrambling backward.
"I’m a humble young man from the suburbs." Caelus said with a polite smile.
A massive, golden-black dragon Fighting Spirit erupted from Caelus’s back. It shot forward faster than the man could blink, coiling violently around him and crushing the life out of him in an instant.
Caelus calmly walked forward toward the corpses. He raised his hand.
EXTRACTION!

[Extraction Successful.]

As the notification faded, a muffled ringing sound echoed from the pocket of the first dead assassin.
Caelus crouched down, fished the phone out, and answered it. He didn’t speak.
"How is it? Is that street rat dead yet?" an arrogant, impatient voice barked through the speaker. "He dared to touch the heir of the Parker Family. Roland has been humiliated enough. That kid does not deserve to live."
The voice paused, then sneered.
"He is lucky his parents are already dead, or we would have made them pay the price for him. The Parker Family has never lost face like this before. Drag his corpse to the city outskirts. We will use him as an example."
