Chapter 186: Salvation Light

The news of the event in Daisy Town had spread throughout the entire Fleur Kingdom. It became the talk of common folk in markets, food stalls, guild halls, and many other places where people gathered.

At the center of the news were the Rose Army and the Dawnbloom Guild. The stories of their bravery and courage in stopping the catastrophe became the top topic for the entire week.

The Kaoslith was also widely discussed. Once merely a tale to frighten young children, it had now evolved into a menacing legend, as a source of chaos and destruction. However, many people still refused to believe in the existence of such a thing and dismissed it as nothing more than exaggerated rumors.

But the crown jewel of the news was the mysterious golden light that illuminated the entire town. People claimed it was the descent of an angel. These claims were further supported by witness accounts, both from the townsfolk of Daisy Town and from members of the army who had seen it with their own eyes.

Since then, the light had been given many names. Some called it "The Angel," others "The Golden Light." But most people referred to it as "The Salvation Light." Because after the light appeared, all the monsters vanished without a trace.

Some even began using this opportunity to strengthen their cult beliefs, claiming that their so-called God had descended to aid His servants.

Whatever theories or stories they spread, only a small number of people knew the real truth behind that light.

And one of them was currently walking down the hallway toward the meeting chamber of Rose Palace, Prince Reymond Radcliffe.

He had recovered well after the battle with Azul. His mana had fully returned within twenty-four hours. And now, he was responding to a summons from his father, the King, for an emergency meeting. As usual, Reymond was escorted by his ever-loyal knight, Sir Dave.

After a few minutes of walking, he arrived at the luxurious meeting hall. A grand golden chandelier hung from the decorated ceiling filled with intricate drawings. The walls were painted in white and gold, and the floor was made of expensive brown wooden tiles that shone beautifully, reflecting Reymond’s own face.

In the center of the room stood a large oval table. All the nobility and royalty had been summoned, including Prince Reid and Edward. Beside them sat eight counts, each representing their respective counties. Edward was seated at the head of the oval table, while Reymond took his seat beside Reid.

"How is your wound, Prince Reymond?" Count Luis of Aster County asked. He was a middle-aged man, with only a few strands of white among his brown-black hair.

"It has healed well. It is all thanks to the expert healer from your county, Count Luis. I shall repay your kindness one day," Reymond replied.

"It is nothing. As long as you are back in good shape, that is more than enough for me," Count Luis said.

Edward stood up and looked at all the participants of the meeting.

"Is everyone here? Then we shall begin. First of all, I am representing the King. He is currently unwell, so he has delegated this meeting to me. Let us pray for His Majesty’s swift recovery."

"Where is Sir Kelar? Did he not attend?" Count Vigar of Lavender County asked. He had long white hair, along with a short mustache and beard.

Edward clicked his tongue, clearly displeased at the mention of that name.

"Sir Kelar also claimed that he is unwell. However, he stated that he will fully agree with whatever decision we make in this meeting," Edward explained.

Reid stared down at the table, deep in thought.

"Let us continue. Secondly, I would like to appreciate all the princes and counts who managed to attend despite your busy schedules. I believe there is no need for me to explain the reason you have all been summoned. This meeting concerns the latest incident in Daisy Town. I shall now pass the floor to Prince Reid, who holds the full report."

Edward sat down as Reid stood up. All eyes in the room turned toward him with full attention.

"Good morning, everyone. I led the investigation into the disaster that occurred in Daisy Town. Prince Reymond and I personally witnessed the events there. After three days of investigation, we have gathered some crucial information. I would like to highlight three key points."

"Firstly, the attack that happened in Daisy Town is connected to the incidents in Lily Town and other areas near Rose City. We believe we have captured one of the main culprits behind all of this."

"I apologize for interrupting," Count Bastion of Tulip County interjected. "Do you mean the culprit is still alive? Where is he now?"

"Yes. He calls himself Azul. We apprehended him after he was gravely injured in battle with..." Reid glanced briefly at Reymond, "...Prince Reymond. We then imprisoned him in the deepest underground prison in this city, under maximum security."

"Ahh. How fortunate that Prince Reymond was there to save the day. Thank you, Prince. You are truly the strongest warrior in this kingdom," Count Bastion praised.

The other counts soon followed, offering their praises to Reymond.

However, Reymond was not even a little happy to receive those praises. Because he truly knew who had actually done it. His hands tightened on the table, forming fists, veins beginning to bulge as the praises continued.

Suddenly, he felt a hand on his left shoulder and saw Reid’s hand resting there. Reid shook his head with a soft smile. Reymond exhaled and slowly calmed himself down.

"Secondly, we finally witnessed the Kaoslith with our own eyes, and what it is capable of. Unfortunately, the Kaoslith was destroyed after the battle ended, leaving us with no samples to study," he said with disappointment.

"And lastly." Reid nodded to his knight, Sir Saul, who stepped forward carrying a black box. Reid opened the box and lifted a crystal blade from within.

"This is a Kaoslith blade, the weapon capable of stripping someone of their ability to use mana."

Everyone in the room except Reymond gasped in shock. Murmurs spread as they spoke among themselves in disbelief, while Edward leaned forward.

"A blade that can make someone manaless..." he muttered. "Who is crafting such a vile weapon...?"
