All the skeletons inside the hall turned toward the entrance.

Moments ago, everyone of the Undead King’s Generals had felt it.

The King’s aura had disappeared.

At first they thought it was impossible. Their king was undefeated. A being who had ruled the palace for decades. Yet the feeling remained. The connection was gone.

Then the massive doors slowly opened.

CREEAAK.

"Surprise, Mother fuckers." Reiji said as he stepped inside.

All the Skeletons inside the hall stared at him. They didn’t know what this creature was and how he was able to get past His Majesty. Or maybe he had something to do with His Majesty’s disappearance.

The thought rang through the skulls of the Seven Generals but they simply dismissed it. This creature in front of them looked weak and there wasn’t any strong aura coming from him either.

Silence filled the hall.

Reiji glanced around.

The hall was far bigger than he remembered. Seven skeletons clad in shining armor, radiating powerful auras, sat on the throne while the thousands of other undead skeletons of both low-ranking and high-ranking Undead creatures stood silently.

If this was before, Reiji would have run away. But now, seeing the numbers and their ranks above their head, they didn’t feel all that powerful or strong like before, and they now felt less despite them being thousands.

One of the Seven Generals slowly stood up. Its crimson eyes stared directly at Reiji.

"Creature."

Its voice echoed throughout the hall. "How did you enter this place?"

Reiji pointed behind him. "The door."

The General froze. The other Generals also froze. Even the Velsra hiding behind Reiji blinked. He couldn’t understand what the Undead were saying, but he could understand what Reiji was saying and he knew that Reiji’s response was definitely insulting.

The Velsra slowly looked toward the Seven Generals seated below the throne and immediately felt his scalp go numb.

Each one of them was a nightmare he had only heard about in rumors. Any one of them could kill him with a single finger.

Yet Reiji was standing in front of all seven of them and talking as if they were idiots.

’Please... please don’t drag me into this.’

The Velsra quietly took a few steps backwards and hid behind Reiji using him as a shield.

The General’s eye flames flickered. "That is not what I meant."

"Oh." Reiji nodded. "Then ask better questions." 𝕗𝕣𝐞𝐞𝘄𝐞𝚋𝚗𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗹.𝚌𝕠𝚖

The atmosphere instantly became strange. The Velsra lowered its head.

’Please whatever is going on, don’t get me involved.’

The General’s fingers tightened around the armrest of its throne. "Where is His Majesty?"

This time Reiji didn’t answer immediately. He simply pulled out the long bone sword from his inventory.

"You mean this?" Reiji asked causally as he gave the sword a casual swing.

Every skeleton in the hall immediately recognized it. The eye flames of the Seven Generals trembled. That weapon belonged to only one person.

Their King, the one even they couldn’t dare touch.

Reiji then pulled out the damaged armor and casually tossed it.

CLANG!

The hall became deathly silent.

"No way..." one of the Generals muttered. Another suddenly stood up. "Where did you get those?"

Reiji scratched his cheek.

"From the Undead King." The eye flames of all Seven Generals burned fiercely.

"What did you do to His Majesty?"

"Are you dumb or what? He became my EXP."

"What?"

"I killed him." Reiji’s tone became serious as he disappeared from where he stood.

*SLASH* *SLASH* *SLASH* *SLASH* *SlASH*

Several D-Rank Undead Skeleton heads flew into the air. And the system notification kept ringing in his ears.

Reiji was stunned, all the skeletons he killed were dropping cores. But he didn’t dwell much on it and continued harvesting his EXP.

The Generals were caught off guard by this creature’s speed and strength. And in no time, more than a hundred lower undead had been killed.

"What are you waiting for? Your juniors are being killed, help them!" One of the Generals growled at the high-ranking Undead that were frozen in place.

They suddenly snapped out of their daze and rushed to crush the creature.

"Courting death..." Reiji muttered as a cruel smile appeared on his face.

BOOM!

Reiji charged forward, the ground beneath his feet exploded. The General’s hollow eyes widened. Only the Velsra now looked smug. "Yeah, that’s my Lord!"

The high-ranking Undead soldiers were shocked at the speed Reiji was coming at them. Though they were D+ Rank soldiers, they felt that they were still no match against this monster.

"Don’t you dare run away!" one of the Generals growled as it jumped down.

"Attack him all at once!" the General roared.

All the lower undead that were scared suddenly got pumped, even the high-ranking ones. They believed that if they attacked all at once there was no way this creature could escape. They all raised their various weapons and charged forward.

The other Generals looked at this and nodded like they had already won. Even the Velsra showed a hint of panic. Though he knew that Reiji was strong, he didn’t know if he could survive the attack of all the undead at once, plus a General.

"Sword Dancer."

Ding!

[Skill: Sword Dancer Activated!]

The world around Reiji seemed to slow down. Every movement of the undead became clear, every swing, every step, every opening. It was definitely unlike when he was using it just to fight against the Undead King.

Ding!

[Skill: Sword Dancer has met the required conditions and leveled up to LV2]

A smile slowly spread across Reiji’s face.

BOOM!

His figure vanished.

SLASH!

A D-Rank Skeleton split apart.

SLASH!

Another lost its head.

SLASH! SLASH! SLASH!

Bone fragments exploded everywhere.

The undead army that had charged so confidently moments ago suddenly stopped. For the first time in years, they felt fear.

"This speed..." one of the Generals muttered.

"No." another General immediately stood up. "Something is wrong."

The creature before them wasn’t getting surrounded. It was moving through their army like a blade through paper.

Every second dozens of undead fell. Every second the system notifications rang endlessly inside Reiji’s head.

Though the EXP was in ones and twos, they were still music to Reiji’s ears.

Meanwhile, the Velsra’s eyes shone brightly. "So cool..."

The little creature completely forgot it was in danger. It was now cheering for Reiji from behind.

"Beat them up, My Lord!"

"Break their legs, My Lord!"

"That one insulted your hairstyle, My Lord!"

The Seven Generals turned simultaneously to stare at the Velsra.

"..."

The Velsra immediately lowered its head and shrank into a corner.

"How is this possible? How is he so strong?!" a General growled.

Reiji paused as he stared at the Undead Skeleton in front of him, and a cruel smile appeared on his face.

The General suddenly felt a chill crawl up its spine as it took a step backwards. Its hollow eyes widened as the creature in front of it suddenly vanished.

"Soul Torture Flame."

Amber flames erupted across the long bone sword and time seemed to slow down. Reiji flipped upside down mid-air, his body twisting effortlessly as if gravity had lost meaning.

The world around him blurred and only the target remained clear.

SLASH!

A streak of amber flames cut through the air. The General’s head separated cleanly from its body, rising slowly as the flames trailed behind the arc like burning silk.

Reiji landed lightly, and behind him the body of the General stood there headless before collapsing to the ground.

THUD!

The body fell to the ground while the head rolled to a stop in front of a high-ranking Undead.

All the Generals’ eyes widened in disbelief. And every undead soldier in the hall trembled.

Silence.

For a moment, no one moved. Even the sound of falling bone fragments felt loud, then...

CLANG!

One of the lower undead dropped its weapon. Another stepped back unconsciously. The pressure in the hall shifted. They were no longer confident, but afraid, not because of Reiji’s aura, but because of what he had just done.

One of the Generals slowly turned its head toward the others. "...He killed His Majesty."

When Reiji had said it, they didn’t believe him, but now there was no doubt anymore because only the King himself could one-shot kill his General.

A ripple spread through the hall. The undead army that once stood in formation began to tremble.

Some instinctively stepped backwards. Others raised their weapons, but their grip was no longer steady.

Reiji looked at all the undead and smiled. "Is this really the Undead King’s Army? I expected much more than this. Don’t worry... it would be over before you all know it."
