She looked over at him as the pill fell onto her open palmed hand, bewildered and searching for answers over his face. He only gave the faintest of smiles, and then he nodded at her.

Her eyes fell down to the pill and then she raised her hand, swallowing the pill down.

He hadn’t been able to see the visual effect on himself, but as she ate it, her figure was wreathed in wisps of blue. Those wisps were both coming from the air as well as coming from her body.

The wisps floated and gathered, and then drew back into her as her eyes gently closed. They remained so for a few moments, then her eyes opened once more. Gradually she stood herself to her feet.

Qianye turned back ahead at that, continuing down to follow behind Elder Han Tieliang and the enforcers.

At the same time, his elf walked up a few steps behind him, her hairs flowing behind her. Her back stood straighter than it had been, and despite the presence of someone so far outranking her like the elder, she held her head high.

Mo Chen’s face was stained with tears by now, shedding them silently. Xiao Bo was still, since his disrespect earlier, pressed to the ground by Elder Han’s pressure. He was struggling to breath well by now, and Qianye immediately believed that the elder must have increased the pressure on him as he slithered his way out of their accusations.

"Inner Disciple Meng Jue," Supervisor Han stood before the goblin, his brows furrowed and his arms clasped behind his back. The man was six and a half feet tall, so even standing before Meng Jue, he was someone to look up to, "do you have anything to say for yourself?"

Right then there were many disciples who began scurrying themselves away from the yard. They had already seen enough! Seeing any more could easily be like poking already agitated tigers!

That being said many of the disciples disregarded what might have been propriety. With nervous, hesitant looks to them, many of the disciples lingered to see the outcome of whatever remained of this incident.

At the same time, Meng Jue did not respond immediately. He struggled for words with his mouth hesitating between opening itself and closing. Then his head fell lower.

Once Meng Jue finally spoke it came out as a whisper through gritted teeth, "No, Elder Han..."

"Now, now, Meng Jue," Ouyang Qianye suddenly spoke, drawing attention to himself again. His voice continued contemptuously, "To say, after everything that has happened, that you don’t have anything to say for yourself, isn’t that rather audacious of you?"

Qianye was the one that had spoken, drawing attention to himself once more.

’Before I let you go, I’m milking you of every drop of fortuity that I can!’

Elder Han sighed faintly to himself, though he did not intervene, and surprisingly, even the enforcers did not interrupt him.

There, at the same time, Meng Jue finally raised his face. His eyes were bloodshot, and his face was tensed harshly, with veins bulged up his forehead and neck, throbbing, and his mouth pressed into a straight, thin line.

"Don’t take this too far, Ouyang Qianye," he growled as blood dripped from his clenched fists. "You have already proved me wrong. What more is there to say?"

Qianye’s expression twisted into one of shock and curiosity, and he spoke conspiratorially, "You really don’t remember?"

Meng Jue’s brows furrowed even deeper.

And then, Ouyang Qianye scoffed, laughing a little into it, then he spoke with great exaggeration, "You ought to kneel and kowtow to me, begging that I do not kill you before your profaned master!"

Everyone in the crowed was surprised then, and they grimaced before Qianye could continue. At the same time the enforcers glanced at him, although the Elder did not.

And although he did not see it, on his elf’s countenance there was the faintest hint of a smile.

Qianye raised a brow at the now silent Meng Jue, and he continued, "Are those not the words you said to her? I remember hearing very clearly that you had shouted that."

He laughed faintly, and one of his fingers gestured to the ground beneath Meng Jue’s feet. Then he continued, "So, what you ought to say, Meng Jue, is kowtow and apologize to us sincerely, begging for forgiveness."

Meng Jue’s body trembled and his teeth ground together so hard that blood seeped from the corner of his mouth.

"I should kowtow?" He hissed, "And beg for forgiveness?"

The air in the yard immediately chilled, and the enforcers frowned. Mo Chen’s face, at the same time, was drained further of its colour, yet despite whatever he might have wanted to say, he held his tongue.

"After dragging Elder Han here and making my elf and I suffer under false pretenses," Qianye scoffed once more, "What exactly do you think that you have done that suggests to you that I be considerate of your dignity? Yes, you ought to kowtow and beg for forgiveness."

Meng Jue’s expression twisted and his chest began to rise and fall heavily.

At the same time, all of the disciples that had been waiting found themselves struck in awe at Ouyang Qianye’s nerve.
