Lin Xuan Qi went over to check on Yue Xin after he left Yue Jie’s room.

When he found where Yue Xin was, she was supervising the other servant girls to clean up the corridors.

"Master Lin." Yue Xin greeted him and imagery of them doing it together automatically flooded her mind.

She quickly looked away from him and pointed at one spot for the servant girls to take note of.

"Come and have some tea with me." Lin Xuan Qi said and waved for her to follow him to the pavilion by the pond.

Yue Xin lowered her head and followed him, stealing a few glances at him along the way.

When Lin Xuan Qi sat in the pavilion, Xiu had the tea ready for them.

Yue Xin took a deep breath before sitting beside him.

"Why are you so nervous?" Lin Xuan Qi asked.

He figured she must be thinking about something weird again.

"Nervous? I’m not..." Yue Xin sat up straight and tried to prove that she wasn’t.

Lin Xuan Qi gave her a smirk and grabbed onto her hand all of a sudden.

She recoiled and nearly jumped from her seat.

"Master Lin!" Yue Xin pouted and panted from the scare.

Lin Xuan Qi let out a laugh at her reaction and said, "Relax, everything will be fine.

"You will ease into it slowly and I will not be too hard on you."

When Yue Xin heard what he said, her mind wandered off in the wrong direction again.

She didn’t know what to feel about it.

Yue Xin was anxious and yet anticipated it eagerly at the same time.

Lin Xuan Qi frowned when he saw her lost in thoughts that made her ears burn red hot.

He patted the back of her hand and said, "If you are so anxious, what would happen when you become the mother of a child?"

Yue Xin hadn’t thought about it in this manner and she tried to calm herself down.

She picked up the teacup and downed the tea in one mouthful.

"I will try my best." Yue Xin said softly when she got her mind and body into the moment to be with him.

It had been a long while since she got to do so and she didn’t want to waste the opportunity.

The cold breeze of the late autumn helped when it blew across from the pond.

Lin Xuan Qi glanced at her and thought that her youthful look, being younger, made her look more like a young mistress than Xue Cong and Yue Jie.

Her petite size among the four of them also made her look much younger than the others, even though she was only a year younger than Yue Jie.

That was why he had been much more patient with her so far.

"So, how do you feel about the wedding?" Lin Xuan Qi asked and Yue Xin nodded her head at him.

"I... I’m looking forward to it." She was happy to be able to serve him fully like her sister when they got married together.

A gap had appeared after he married Xue Cong and Yue Jie.

With him spending the nights with them, she wanted to close it as soon as possible.

She glanced at him and turned away in shyness.

Lin Xuan Qi shook his head and smiled, patting the back of her hand.

It seemed like she would get back to normal only after the wedding.

He proceeded to chat about what she had been doing for the past few days and if there was anything she wanted for the wedding.

She had no other requests.

They sat in the pavilion quietly afterwards.

When they finished the tea, Lin Xuan Qi bid her farewell and headed to look for Liu Shi Shi next.

Liu Shi Shi was briefing the guards on the prowling detail for the night when he arrived.

The guards went on with their duty and he sat down next to her.

"Back so suddenly?" Liu Shi Shi said and she turned away from him.

His absence in her life for some time had triggered her.

Lin Xuan Qi sighed and said, "I suppose you don’t want me back in the mansion?"

He shrugged and moved close to her.

When she saw his face appearing in her sight she tried to turn away again.

But this time, he was ready and he held onto her shoulder.

She bit her lower lip, thought for a moment, and retaliated instead.

Liu Shi Shi pressed her lips onto his and embraced him.

But she regretted it soon after.

When his body, lean and fit, pressed onto hers, it made her heart skip a beat.

And with him returning her kiss with passion, her mind went into a daze.

She quickly broke off the kiss and tried to get him away from her before things got out of hand.

Liu Shi Shi was someone carefree and adventurous, but the first time with him had to be on the wedding night for her.

It had to be a moment that was special and memorable.

Thankfully, Lin Xuan Qi obliged her and he got back into his seat.

He wiped his lips and gave her a smirk.

Liu Shi Shi had always been the challenging one, and he guessed that it might take some time for that to change.

"What do you want?" Liu Shi Shi said and glanced at him with grievance.

He shook his head and protested with innocence, "You started it, and chickened out. Not me."

"No, I didn’t. I wanted to..." Liu Shi Shi raised her hand but stopped mid-sentence.

She couldn’t let him know that she had been on the verge of losing control.

Lin Xuan Qi placed his hand on her slender long lap and said, "It’s fine. I understand."

"Understand what?" Liu Shi Shi asked, fearing that he had misunderstood.

But he only tapped on her shoulder and said, "I’m here to check on how you are doing so far.

"Are you happy for the wedding?"

He asked and Liu Shi Shi gave out a sigh, after which she nodded her head at him.
