Chasing His Ex: The Tycoon's Hidden Twins
Chapter 171 - 147: Lu Fan’s Grand Gift to Silu, A Shock of a Lifetime
Jiang Sifan noticed Wen Wan was asking a lot of questions about Huang Hui, which he found a little strange. "What’s up, Wen Wan? Why do you keep asking about my ex-girlfriend today?"
"N-nothing’s wrong." Wen Wan grew flustered, her face instantly turning red.
A moment ago, Jiang Sifan might not have caught on, but now he understood everything.
He tested the waters, "Are you sure there’s nothing you need to tell me? Nothing you’re hiding?"
"No..." Wen Wan was a terrible liar. She lowered her head as she spoke, her voice losing its conviction.
Jiang Sifan pressed on. "Did Huang Hui come looking for you?"
"I..." Wen Wan didn’t know how to answer.
Just then, Jiang Sifan pulled the car to the side of the road. He turned to look at her and said, "If she contacts you again, you have to tell me. I don’t want you keeping this from me."
Wen Wan hesitated for a moment before finally confessing. "Class President, she did come to me."
"What did she want?" Jiang Sifan asked.
Wen Wan stammered before answering gingerly, "She... she wants to get back together with you, and she wants me to help her."
"And you agreed?" Jiang Sifan asked, finding it hard to believe.
Wen Wan nodded guiltily.
"So, do you want me to get back together with her?" Jiang Sifan shot back.
At first, Wen Wan shook her head, but then felt that wasn’t right. She then nodded, but that felt wrong too. She found herself caught, wavering between a nod and a shake of her head.
A perfect reflection of her conflicted feelings for Jiang Sifan.
Seeing this, Jiang Sifan couldn’t help but laugh. "Okay, okay, I won’t ask anymore. I get the gist of it. First of all, let me make this clear: I will absolutely not get back together with her. I don’t have feelings for her anymore. If she bothers you again, just tell me. I’ll go chew her out. That woman loves to prey on people’s sympathy. You’re too kind-hearted, so you need to be wary. You can’t let your guard down."
Wen Wan could only nod. "Okay, I understand..."
Jiang Sifan then patted his chest. "Right now, I only have one mission: make this startup a success and build our Starry Studio into something big and powerful. When I do, I’ll treat you to the good life. We’re the ultimate dream team."
Wen Wan listened, a shy smile gracing her lips, but now a glimmer of anticipation shone in her eyes.
She believed that one day, Jiang Sifan would make it happen.
"Come on, let’s get something to eat. I’ll treat you to a feast!"
"Class President, maybe we should just eat at the cafeteria," Wen Wan reminded him quietly. "We should save a little money, just in case the startup funds get tight later on."
Jiang Sifan immediately agreed. "Alright, to the cafeteria it is!"
「Meanwhile.」
Jiang Silu was also getting ready to go eat.
Just then, she received a call from Elder Meng.
"Hello, Elder Meng~"
"Haha, young lady, guess what good news I’ve brought you?"
Jiang Silu’s ears perked up, and she asked excitedly, "Elder Meng, don’t tell me... has the owner of Spring Glow Garden agreed to let us visit?"
"You guessed it," Elder Meng chuckled. "And what’s more, the owner of Spring Glow Garden will be there in person. You all can have a chance to speak with him."
"That’s wonderful! I have to tell Teacher Chen right away!!" Jiang Silu exclaimed happily.
"Good. Send me your teacher’s contact information. Have her coordinate with me for the rest of the arrangements," Elder Meng replied.
"Thank you, Elder Meng! I’ll definitely make time to visit you in the Capital during winter break~"
"Of course, of course, young lady. I’ll be waiting."
After hanging up, Jiang Silu eagerly told her advisor, Teacher Chen, the news.
Teacher Chen was surprised at how smoothly everything had been resolved.
She was overjoyed.
Teacher Chen then coordinated with Elder Meng. Deciding there was no time like the present, they came to a quick agreement: the internship in Suzhou would start tomorrow!
A short while later, Teacher Chen @’d everyone in the class group chat.
[Everyone, we’re heading to Suzhou tomorrow for a three-day garden internship. During our trip, we’ll be visiting the four great Suzhou Gardens—Lion Forest, Canglang Pavilion, Zhuozheng Garden, and Liu Garden. We will also visit a private garden called Spring Glow Garden. Spring Glow Garden is normally closed to the public, but thanks to Silu’s connections, the owner has graciously agreed to open it for us for one day, giving us this rare opportunity to see it~]
As soon as the message was posted, the group chat erupted in surprise.
[Oh my god, Silu, are you for real?! You’re amazing!]
[Silu, you actually found a way to contact them? You’re incredible!!]
[I heard from the upperclassmen that when they did their Suzhou Gardens internship, they wanted to see Spring Glow Garden too, but they could never find any information on the owner. Silu, you’re a legend.]
[We love you, Silu~~]
The chat was suddenly flooded with praise for Jiang Silu.
All the praise was a bit overwhelming for Jiang Silu.
She really wanted to explain that it was all thanks to Elder Meng.
But very few people in her class knew she was Elder Meng’s personal protégé.
If she revealed that connection, it would undoubtedly cause an even bigger stir.
So, Jiang Silu chose to reply modestly: [It was just a stroke of luck, I stumbled upon the contact by chance.]
[I don’t care how, Silu, you’re my hero.]
[Haha, Silu, you’re just awesome.]
[Let’s give it up for our Silu!]
Watching her classmates cheer for her again, Jiang Silu had to admit, the feeling was pretty amazing.
If she didn’t know Elder Meng, she’d never get to experience what it felt like to be put on a pedestal like this.
Of course, she had her father, Lu Fan, to thank for all of this.
After all, he was the one who had introduced her to Elder Meng, and Jiang Silu wasn’t one to be ungrateful.
So she decided to tell Lu Fan what had happened and thank him.
Just as Jiang Silu was figuring out what to say, a message from Lu Fan popped up first: [Heard you’re going to Suzhou for your internship tomorrow?]
Jiang Silu: [You already know? Yes~ I was just about to tell you. Thank you so much. If it weren’t for you, I never would have met Elder Meng, and I wouldn’t have been able to contact the owner of Spring Glow Garden. Now my teacher and classmates all think I’m some kind of genius. I know it’s really you and Elder Meng who are the amazing ones. But anyway, I really have you to thank.]
Lu Fan: [Silly girl, don’t thank me. It’s what I should do. As it happens, I have a business trip to Suzhou tomorrow, too. Maybe we’ll run into each other.]
Jiang Silu: [Really?]
Although a part of her was hopeful, she knew Suzhou was a huge city. Lu Fan’s business trip would surely be in the downtown CBD, while her class was going to the Suzhou Gardens. The chances of them running into each other were practically zero.
But what she didn’t know was that the destination for Lu Fan’s "business trip" was the very same Spring Glow Garden.
In fact, Lu Fan was planning to give her a gift tomorrow—a surprise so big it would last her a lifetime!
