Simply listening feeds into the listening skill but I’m guessing that I was able to listen to people who didn’t realise I was listening in order to gain my new skill. Another difference is the level of experience gained for this skill. I got 200 experience instead of the usual 100, so there must be stages to the skills. Beginner and at least intermediate but I’m still starting out so probably advanced and above too!
