Excerpt from Chapter 1

This is where it all began.

A junkyard.

Oh no, this isn't your clean, mechas-only junkyard that was the 'starting point' of many mecha geniuses out there.

I have seen and heard my share of rags-to-riches stories, and many of them claimed that they had started from 'junkyards' and slowly grew to be where they were right now.

From Zero to Hero, they declared.

You can do it too, they said.

As long as you work hard, everything is possible, they claimed.

I call bullshit.

Life doesn't work like that.

To take a dragon's hoard is to challenge death.The greatest of the sea-drakes wakes, curled on his silver throne; but there is no silver. His hoard is stolen. The world changed the day that cracks appeared in the sky– suddenly monsters named『Demonic Beasts』appeared and began to rampage, attacking people.

In the corner of an alleyway, a boy who had been attacked by a demonic beast was dying. His voice begging for help did not reach anyone and his body refused to move.

Looking into the boy’s face, a black cat began to speak to him.

The boy nodded firmly to the devilishly sweet invitation, in response the black cat mocked him.

「Is that so—then I’ll【Haunt (Save)】you」

『She』never laments, no matter what the future may bring.

As we all know, the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Jihua Hospital, which is affiliated with A Medical University has two deputy chief physicians who do not see eye to eye.

From their freshman year to their doctoral graduation and then to their training and professional title evaluation, Jiang Xu and Sheng Fangyu have been fighting and thwarting each other. It was like a case id, ‘if you don’t kill me, I will kill you’, ‘you get 96 in the exam, I’ll get 97 in the exam’.

In the end, they even fell for the same girl.
