"Did James give you candy when you went out this morning? Look at that mouth of yours, so sweet." Mother Rice lovingly rubbed Jane Sampson’s head, "You must have some other things to discuss with Nina, right? You young folks chat away."

"Auntie Rice, I originally came to find Nina, but since Nina can only stay at home every day recently, I thought it’d be better to come find you." Jane Sampson held onto Mother Rice’s hand, not letting her leave, "I’m preparing to take on a new drama where the female lead is a lawyer, so I want to experience what it’s like to be a lawyer at a law firm. Auntie Rice, are you in need of a secretary, or perhaps someone to make tea? I’d volunteer, no salary needed."

"You’re taking on a new drama?" Nina looked up from her tablet computer at Jane Sampson, "When does ’The Sound and Shadow’ air?"

"Soon," Jane Sampson replied, "They should announce the finalization time soon, and then it’ll be time to start the publicity. I think you’ll find my new drama quite interesting."

"I’m interested just hearing that you’re playing a female lawyer," Nina nodded, her face full of curiosity, "Is it about a new professional woman character?"

"Yes," Jane Sampson said, "I haven’t played this kind of role before, so I’m a bit nervous. That’s why I thought of going to learn by watching your mom."

Mother Rice nodded in agreement upon hearing this.

"You were swept into James’s nest right after graduating university, and before last year, you were always a housewife, never really working a day. So, it’s pretty good that you want to get this kind of experience."

Mother Rice had thought earlier that Jane Sampson had married too early, which felt like a loss. Jane really had a talent for music, and looking back now, it seems it was inherited from her biological mother, just like her brother, a musical prodigy.

However, Mother Rice wasn’t really in a position to say anything since Jane Sampson had been a full-time wife staying at home after marriage.

Later, when she learned that Jane became an actor, Mother Rice even felt quite pleased.

A bright and glamorous girl like Jane Sampson deserved to be in the spotlight, not hidden away at home like a dusty pearl. Mother Rice thought for a moment, then spoke, "Jane, how about this? If you have nothing going on recently, starting tomorrow, you can follow me, like an assistant, or follow other female lawyers in the consulting firm to get a close-up experience of a lawyer’s daily life."

Jane Sampson’s eyes lit up, nodding repeatedly, "Thank you, Auntie Rice! I’ll follow you then, let me know anything you need help with."

"Mom, don’t hold back, you can use her just as you would with me. Though Jane Sampson studied music major, she’s quite adept with computers. The usual work dealing with documents on the computer doesn’t stump her, and our good friends in the game often ask her for help. Jane Sampson can’t stay idle and loves reading, and she used to research these things when she was home."

Nina quickly betrayed Jane Sampson by saying, "Mom, don’t treat Jane Sampson like a delicate flower, feel free to push her hard just like you do with me. After saying so, Mother Rice glanced at Nina half-lying on the sofa.
