Chapter 405: Chapter 135: Domain

Seeing that Teacher Jiang was getting straight to the point, Chen Chuan didn’t bother with pleasantries either. As he walked forward, he released his condensed Divine Thought, and his Domain unfurled naturally.

Teacher Jiang felt it immediately. He said, "Chen, back when you took the assessment, I sensed balance in you. There were no fluctuations, no ripples. It was like a smooth, round stone without any edges, leaving no cracks to be found. This indicated that your abilities were well-rounded, and you were emotionally rational and calm.

But..."

The relaxed expression on his face gradually faded. "Now, you are still just as calm, but it’s like a deep, bottomless lake that feels like it could swallow a person whole at any moment. A Domain like this is truly a bit..." He paused, looked at Chen Chuan, and said with a sigh, "a bit terrifying."

As he spoke, Chen Chuan also sensed something from him. It must have been Teacher Jiang’s intentionally released Domain. From it, he detected an active and tense aura.

If he had to describe the feeling, it was like a conductor on a stage, ready to erupt with passionate energy at any moment. But as for more specific things, like the balance Teacher Jiang had mentioned, he couldn’t sense anything like that.

Teacher Jiang spread his hands toward the spacious Training Ground and said with a smile, "You should have felt it. When you sense others, they can also sense you.

Although your information is exposed to the other party at that moment, you also gain some information about them. Regardless of how much you learn, your first priority is to ensure you don’t reveal too much yourself. Therefore, you must find a way to make limited changes.

How to hide yourself and mislead others is what you need to learn and master now."

Chen Chuan nodded and said, "Please guide me, Teacher."

Teacher Jiang paced back and forth a couple of steps and said, "Chen, the main part of a Biological Domain is formed by the information diffused from the Mutated Organization. You should be able to feel this. But if you let it act on its own, it will naturally reveal its most essential and pure aspects—the truest information.

But as long as you can utilize and guide it properly, making it emit the ’sound’ and Domain you desire, you can achieve your goal.

For example, if you have one part of your Mutated Organization suppress its information while another part continues to release it, you achieve partial disclosure. If this partial information is modulated well enough to make someone think they’ve seen the whole picture, then you’ve successfully misled your opponent.

Through long periods of accumulation and evolution, Fighters have already figured out many established templates and routines for where to suppress and where to remain active."

He tapped his Realm Token with his finger, and a set of data was immediately transmitted. "These are the most basic templates. You need to master these first before you can consider more complex variations."

Chen Chuan looked at the data transmitted to the light screen. There were a total of three methods for altering one’s own Domain by regulating the Mutated Organization, and all other template variations were merely derivatives of these three basic ones.

After reading through them, he found they weren’t difficult at all. Since these templates were useful for the vast majority of Fighters, it meant they didn’t require control over a large amount of the Mutated Organization.

His own Mutated Organization, however, was extremely extensive. Every time he fought, he would call upon a vast amount of it. Moreover, he had recently been practicing the application techniques of the Furnace Breathing Method, the scope and complexity of which far exceeded the variations here. Therefore, these templates posed almost no difficulty for him.

So, after just a few glances and a brief attempt, he had already mastered them. All that was left was to practice and commit them to memory.

Teacher Jiang had been sensing his Biological Domain the entire time. Noticing the successive, methodical changes occurring within him, he said, "Hm, you’ve mastered them already? With your talent, I suppose that’s to be expected. Then let’s move on to the next part.

Once you’ve mastered the fundamentals and understand the basics, you’ll know what your opponent is doing. At the very least, you won’t be completely clueless. But to quickly analyze and understand an opponent’s Domain information, you still need some techniques and experience."

At this, he slowly spread his hands and said, "First, feel this carefully."

Chen Chuan tried to sense his Domain and found that it had changed drastically, completely different from the feeling it gave him before.

If before he was facing a passionate conductor, now he was facing a low-key musician in the background—unremarkable, but never missing a beat, completing their part with a plain, rigid precision that bordered on numb and dull.

"Which one do you think is my real Domain—the one from before, or this one now?" Teacher Jiang asked with a smile.

Chen Chuan tried to distinguish between them carefully. ’This must be related to what Teacher Jiang just taught me.’ He knew he couldn’t perceive it in depth, so he only compared and observed the general, overarching characteristics.

After a moment, he said, "It seems to be neither, but also both."

Teacher Jiang snapped his fingers and said approvingly, "Very close. You’re very perceptive; you’ve noticed the key part. In both of these Domains, only a part was real. The rest I intentionally altered. The only difference is that the first one was altered less, while the second one was altered more.

In my view, a Domain is like a piece of music. Through it, you can hear all sorts of wonderful melodies, and these melodies reveal a great deal. Only a naturally flowing piece of music is pleasant and beautiful.

But one that is artificially constructed will be awkward and stiff. Unless a person’s mastery over shaping their own Domain has reached an extremely high level, it’s difficult for most people to eliminate this flaw.

So, what you need to do is simple: pay attention to the parts that flow naturally and discard the parts that are stiff and rigid. Then, based on your understanding, determine what type of enemy you are facing."

At this point, he added a reminder, "Your judgment must be fast and decisive. This requires constant practice; there are no shortcuts. It’s best to find someone willing to cooperate with you, a good sparring partner. But I can’t help you with that. If you have enough simulation resources, I suggest you go directly to Hong Fu."

Chen Chuan nodded. Although Teacher Jiang wasn’t responsible for this area, his guidance was already a great help. ’If I had to figure this out on my own, who knows how long it would take to grasp the key principles.’

Teacher Jiang then said, "Actually, when it comes to Domain techniques, unless they’re a Fighter from the state system, very few people care about this. Those who recognize its importance and want to learn these techniques are already in the minority.

So, if you don’t want to spend too much energy on this, mastering what I just told you is enough. But if you want to delve deeper, I have a bit more experience I can share. I can still spare ten or twenty minutes a day. If you have any questions, feel free to come find me."

Chen Chuan said, "Thank you, Teacher Jiang. This has been very helpful to me."

Teacher Jiang stuck his hands in his pants pockets and said with a smile, "No need to be so formal. This is just an exchange between equals. You’re a Third Limit Fighter now, too. Who knows, I might need your help someday."

Chen Chuan said earnestly, "If you ever need help with anything, Teacher, you can contact me as well."

Teacher Jiang chuckled and said, "Then I won’t hesitate to ask. Let’s call it a day for now." As he spoke, he raised his hand and tapped his Realm Token, then turned to walk out. "Many students bought my course before the semester started. It’s about time, so I need to get to class."

After Teacher Jiang left, Chen Chuan didn’t linger. He took the elevator back to his dorm room. He didn’t rush to find Hong Fu; instead, he repeatedly practiced the three templates.

’I need to practice until I can switch templates instantly, on command.’ He estimated it would take three to five days to become proficient. Looking for Hong Fu after that would be much more effective.

The rest of the day was spent repeatedly practicing these exercises and honing the Furnace Breathing Method and its application techniques.

The next day, September 2nd, he contacted Ni Qianqian via his Realm Token first thing in the morning, then left the Profound Palace Building and drove to the Processing Bureau Headquarter.

As soon as he walked through the door, an internal staff member was there to lead him to a waiting room and serve him tea.

He didn’t have to wait long before the sound of high heels echoed from the hallway, and a beautiful woman in a white uniform walked in.

The woman was about thirty years old, with her hair in an updo. She wore a polite, professional smile as she gave him a slight bow and said, "Mr. Chen, thank you for waiting. Please come with me."

Chen Chuan stood up and nodded. "Thank you."

The woman smiled at him again and led the way.

Chen Chuan followed her out, down a corridor to the elevators. After they stepped inside, the woman pressed a button with a slender finger. The elevator descended all the way to the seventh basement level before stopping.

The elevator doors opened. The woman stepped out first, then turned to the side and gestured. "Mr. Chen, this way, please."

Chen Chuan looked ahead. Outside the elevator was a long, deep corridor, its walls lined with cold-blue light strips. ’Looks like whatever the Processing Bureau wants to discuss is serious,’ he thought. ’They even chose to do it in an underground facility.’

He stepped out of the elevator and followed the woman for about two minutes. Finally, she pushed open a set of double doors and entered a conference room with curved walls.

The room was vast, but the surrounding area was dimly lit. Only the very center was bright, where a long, fixed metal table was situated. The entire space was filled with a cold-toned light, and there was almost no sound; the sound of their footsteps was exceptionally clear.

Chen Chuan then noticed a middle-aged man standing behind the metal table. He wore sunglasses and a crisp uniform, and seemed to be waiting for them.

The woman walked up and stopped beside the man. Facing Chen Chuan, she said, "Mr. Chen, this is Specialist Liang." It was a simple introduction; she didn’t mention his specific position, full name, or department.

Chen Chuan walked forward and nodded in greeting. "Specialist Liang."

Specialist Liang spoke in a tone devoid of emotion. "Mr. Chen, we’ve asked you to come here today to explain a few things to you.

Any Fighter trained through the state system who reaches the Third Limit is brought in for a talk, during which we reveal certain things to them. However, this information is classified as a state secret. Therefore, before we can inform you, you need to sign a non-disclosure agreement."

The woman brought over a paper document, placed it on the metal table, and pushed it in front of Chen Chuan.

Specialist Liang said impassively, "You have the right to refuse this knowledge. If you choose not to accept, you may turn around and leave the way you came. No one will trouble you about this matter in the future. If you choose to accept, then please sign here."
