Chapter 382: 382: Limitation

Eden stared at his hands, watching the lightning linger around them. He guessed Kyle had gotten more powerful than he thought. He had indeed prepared for this fight.

Eden didn’t stop there. He stretched out both hands while summoning purple lightning from both directions. He played with them in his hands before he pushed them toward Kyle.

They flashed at Kyle, aiming to strike him from both sides. But Kyle waved a hand around himself, controlling the lightning that now surrounded him like a shield.

He smiled as he stared at Eden. "That’s too cheap. Maybe try something else?" He snapped his fingers. Immediately, the lightning all flew toward Eden.

Eden stepped backward as he struggled to capture and control the lightning, but it struck him hard.

Eden felt it strike through his veins and inside his body. He immediately fell down on his knees, hands on the ground as he stared into thin air. His vision had gone blurry for a second there as he gasped.

"Eden! Are you okay...? Eden?" Felix was struggling to get to his feet to approach him. But Kyle snapped a finger at him, and he fell backward against the wall, unable to get up.

Kyle smiled as he came to stand before Eden, gripping him by the chin and raising his head up to meet his gaze.

Kyle smiled. "I told you, you can’t defeat me. You should give up and accept my offer. Come with me, and everything will end. You’ll be the hero you wish to be. Isn’t that good enough?"

But Eden scoffed. "And why should I bother listening to you?" Eden brushed his hands off as he pulled out his staff from thin air.

His staff now glowed in purple as he struck it at Kyle.

Kyle immediately stepped backward as Eden attacked. He meticulously waved his staff at Kyle, aiming to hit him down with it.

Kyle kept pulling back, avoiding every hit. At one point, he also pulled out a sword from the wall, and the two of them engaged in a full fight.

The two used their weapons against each other, defending themselves while striking against each other. Kyle was smooth with his sword, using it to brush off the staff whenever it came.

And when Eden saw that it wasn’t working, he stepped backward and stamped the staff into the ground. A purple light filled the ground, followed by a minor earthquake. And then purple energy surrounded Kyle where he stood.

Kyle looked around and stared at Eden. "You still won’t give up? Huh?"

Eden said nothing. He held onto the staff firmly, pushing all the energy through it toward Kyle.

The purple energy trapped Kyle. He struggled to move his feet and body, but he couldn’t. He looked around, watching the energy surround him as he scoffed. "What the hell..." He stared at Eden. "You think that will stop me, huh?"

Eden still said nothing. He had his eyes closed, pressing hard against the staff and letting the energy rule. The atmosphere was shaking now. The building was slowly falling apart. The walls and everything around it were slowly tearing off as he directed the energy toward Kyle.

Kyle struggled some more but to no avail. And then he stared at Eden with a smile. "I told you, that’s not going to work easily on me. Nothing you do will!"

He snapped as he clenched his fist. Immediately, a mini explosion took place. He broke free from the purple energy Eden had used around him. And in the process, most things in the room shattered.

The walls of the building shattered partially, and the chairs, pictures, and most things around the house shattered into pieces.

Eden, who was holding onto the energy, was deeply affected by the explosion. It pushed him backward as he smashed his back against the wall and fell down with a sharp gasp.

Felix struggled to get himself close to where he fell, helping him up.

Eden’s lips and face were mildly bruised. He was bleeding as he brushed his hands against his lips, cleaning the blood off as he struggled to his feet.

"He’s going to keep hurting you like that... you should stop," Felix said, worried about him.

But Eden didn’t want to. He shook his head as he said, "No, I can’t stop now. I have to eliminate him... this is..." He coughed as he struggled to his feet. "This is the only chance I might get to get rid of him... I have to... I have to end all this..."

He and Felix were on their feet, staring at Kyle, who stood before them with a smile. He had a hand behind him, smiling as he stared at them.

"You’re still persistent?" He laughed. "What a pity. I guess you know the cause of your pathetic performance, and you still don’t wish to do anything about it, huh?"

Kyle stared at Eden. "How pathetic." He sighed as he turned, looking around at the mess that had been made in the hall. "I’m a quick learner, you see, and I’ve managed to learn a thing or two before that old man passed away." He smiled. "And one of the things I was able to pick up was the fact that being close to that pathetic blue-haired guy weakens you. And I guess it really is messing with you right now."

He smiled as he turned and stared at them. "What a pathetic love story. He’s around, and that’s why you can’t reach your fullest potential. And you think you can defeat me with that little effort? Huh?" He laughed.

Eden stood there, the bruises on his face, as he glared at Kyle with a calm expression.

Kyle smiled as he said to him, "Let’s just make this easy for everyone. Since you can’t beat me in such a situation, just give up and come with me. That way, everyone is happy. What do you say?"

But Eden said firmly with a cold expression, "Just shut up. My limitations and how it comes about is none of your business. What you should be worried about is how not to get killed.".
