Chapter 57: Chapter 57: The Great Snake Flashes to Her Home

There was no sign of anyone chasing them from behind.

Bai Su ran for a good distance while carrying Bai Xiaoshe, but she eventually couldn’t run anymore and had to put him down.

Bai Xiaoshe looked at her with a complicated expression. "Why did you save me back there?"

It took Bai Su a long moment to catch her breath. She looked at him with a hint of helplessness. "You silly boy. You’re my child. It’s a mother’s instinct to protect her young. If I don’t protect you, who will?"

Bai Xiaoshe pressed his lips together, not knowing what to say.

Bai Su took his hand and they started walking slowly toward the restaurant. "Let’s hurry back. We’ll be safe once we’re home. That giant snake probably won’t dare to follow us there."

Bai Xiaoshe said, "That snake is at least Level 9. You almost died back there."

Bai Xiaoshe reached out his small hands to support her. "Slow down. The cold is probably affecting that snake. He should be going into hibernation soon, so we don’t have to rush."

A wave of happiness washed over Bai Su’s heart.

Those were the kindest words Bai Xiaoshe had said to her since he’d returned.

The scent of blood soon attracted Bai Xiaolang.

He didn’t even stop to ask questions. The three of them met up and rushed back to the restaurant.

The restaurant had been renovated by Lu Tingyan and equipped with a security system, which could fend off intruders to a certain extent.

As someone with a fear of snakes, being wrapped up by a giant python was enough to make her pass out on the spot!

Although his upper body was human, white snake scales dotted his shoulders and traced his V-lines, shimmering with an iridescent, pearly luster under the light.

Li Chenlin squinted his eyes in comfort, pulled her even tighter, and let his hands begin to roam.

As his tail squirmed against her, Bai Su noticed a bleeding wound on one section of it.

’I think I get it now,’ she thought.

The massive blood loss, combined with the low temperature on the mountain, had forced this unlucky Snake Beastman into the early stages of hibernation.

The System suddenly came online, its voice excited in her mind: ’Wow! Male Lead Number Two has finally appeared!’

Bai Su paused. ’He’s Male Lead Number Two?’

Hearing this, Bai Su’s lips twitched.
