Back To The 80s: President's Doted Wife
Chapter 1590 - 1591: The Consequences of Immorality
Secretary Gao’s death was settled after the memorial service. Those in the know were aware his death was not honorable, and even after the family read the autopsy report, there were no further questions, so they didn’t investigate deeper, closing the case as a natural death.
Cheng Su heard this from Ning Ge and couldn’t help but sigh, what does it matter if one is in a high position? Who would have expected him to stumble towards the end? Perhaps he himself never imagined it, either.
And having died in such a manner, with the family choosing not to pursue it further, doesn’t that make him feel even colder underground?
"Whether he’s cold or not, it doesn’t matter. Honestly, he brought it upon himself. He violated the moral standards of marriage and humanity. Do you think his family didn’t know about it?" Cheng Su spoke lightly; "Women are the most sensitive creatures. They often have a clue about changes in the men around them, it’s just a matter of whether or not they choose to expose it!"
"Are you saying that Madam Gao knew about Gao Hongbo’s dirty deeds all along?" Ning Ge asked while holding Qi Xiaoqi.
Cheng Su shook her head: "I don’t know if she knew or not, but even if she didn’t know, she must have suspected it. And as soon as it happened, she would understand everything. Whether her heart died or she considered their children’s future, now that he’s dead, she probably doesn’t even want to pursue it further."
Ning Ge sighed: "Women, when they’re ruthless, they are truly ruthless!"
Cheng Su glanced at him; somehow, his words carried a hint of personal feeling, didn’t they?
"A woman’s ruthlessness is often forced by a man." Cheng Su let out a mocking laugh and said, "Take Secretary Gao, for instance. He didn’t abide by morality, toyed with others, and his own family. Having come to this point, who can say it wasn’t his own doing? Had he been moral, he wouldn’t have died a violent death, and his family wouldn’t refuse to seek justice for him afterward. Don’t say Madam Gao is ruthless. She’s probably still resentful in her heart!"
A man’s happiness is actually related to desire. A man who knows how to control his desires, whose reason far surpasses his wants, understands that some actions may ultimately not be worth the cost.
Ning Ge awkwardly said: "Hearing you talk, it seems I should feel a bit ashamed!"
Cheng Su sneered: "This is a typical case; it teaches you the consequences of not maintaining morality. So, you must know to control your desires."
Ning Ge rubbed his nose, looked at Xiao Qi in his arms, and said: "Godson, your mom has become a tigress."
Cheng Su laughed out of anger and kicked him: "Stop corrupting my son."
Ning Ge laughed.
After laughing for a while, Cheng Su took a sip of tea, hesitated a moment, and then asked: "Gao Hongbo is dead, so where has Chiang Qing gone?"
Ning Ge’s smile slightly faded and said: "Not sure yet, but I feel Gao’s death should be the work of Chiang Qing, and someone is helping her from behind."
Cheng Su took a cold breath: "Are you saying Gao Hongbo was killed by Chiang Qing?"
"There’s no evidence. But isn’t it a coincidence? He’s dead, and Chiang Qing is nowhere to be found, not a trace. How could she manage that on her own?" Ning Ge sneered.
Cheng Su remained silent and said: "If so, her madness has reached a whole new level!"
If she’s bold enough to kill, what else wouldn’t she dare do?
Cheng Su shivered with a chill.
"Don’t worry, I’ve already had someone tracking her whereabouts." Ning Ge reassured her.
Cheng Su forced a smile.
To avoid her worrying too much, Ning Ge took out something he brought: "Here, a gift for my godson, a gift for recognizing kinship, you keep it!"
Cheng Su indeed had her attention diverted. When she looked, it turned out to be a stock certificate, and she couldn’t help but say: "You as a godfather are certainly generous!"
