Back to the 70s: My Childhood Sweetheart Spoils Me Rotten
Chapter 989 - 991: Reputation at Risk
Zhao Xuran was in the darkroom helping Gong Ruini develop photos. Although he wasn’t very interested in photography, he was willing to learn anything Ni Zi liked.
Nestled in the specially built darkroom, he saw the photos Ni Zi took of Zhao Guangran, and he laughed until his stomach hurt.
"Guangran’s photos are nice."
"Yeah, this pose is quite enchanting." Gong Ruini was most pleased with this photo. Although it only showed half of Zhao Guangran’s face, the expression and the pose were all just right.
Zhao Xuran took a look and felt he could do better. "I can do that too,"
Humph, he didn’t want Ni Zi praising others, not even his own brother.
"I can take photos of you too."
"That’s not really appropriate." Taking photos of Zhao Guangran, Gong Ruini felt no pressure — he’s not her man, so who cares if he looks ugly or makes a fool of himself.
It’s all about sharing resources, as long as these not-for-public photos are just shared among them, but for Zhao Xuran, Gong Ruini wasn’t keen.
"What’s wrong with it?" Zhao Xuran was displeased. Clearly, he could do it too.
The proud man, Gong Ruini stood on her tiptoes and gave Zhao Xuran a kiss, "I wish the photos of you all look spirited."
No need to be always serious, but definitely no black history — a domineering CEO must not have a bad image.
"That’s tiring too."
"I just want to take them for you to see, we won’t show them to others." Zhao Xuran didn’t want this set of photos to be seen by others, not even by his parents. 𝒇𝒓𝒆𝒆𝙬𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝒎
Unable to resist any longer against Zhao Xuran’s constant cuddling and requests for hugs and kisses, Gong Ruini could only agree.
Alas, who would have thought that a pouting Zhao Xuran could be so interesting. Gong Ruini regretted not having a camera at hand to capture this amusing scene.
You’d know that a domineering CEO rarely acts so coy. It’s a pity that no matter how she tries to push Zhao Guangran out for such photos, the guy beside her won’t fall for it.
Nonetheless, getting enchanting photos was enough to make Gong Ruini very satisfied.
"By the way, I’ll take photos of you too." Zhao Xuran wouldn’t just mess with himself and wouldn’t go easy on Gong Ruini either.
Ah, really? Gong Ruini looked at her own waistline; although she had a waist, her chest wasn’t big. If taking these body-accentuating photos, it indeed wouldn’t be too great.
"It’s okay, we’ll just look at them ourselves."
"I think your chest is great." While whispering with Gong Ruini, he didn’t forget to give her a peck.
Jeez, how could this guy be so shameless? Gong Ruini really didn’t expect Zhao Xuran to be this bold now.
"Hey, when will you grow up?" Zhao Xuran looked a bit melancholic. Even with a girlfriend and even engaged, there were still many things they couldn’t do.
Humph, just goes to show no matter who they are, if they’re men, their minds are structured the same.
Gong Ruini fiercely glared at Zhao Xuran, the latter looking innocent, "I’ll only be like this with you."
"Oh? Who else were you planning on being with?" Gong Ruini shook her little fist at Zhao Xuran, indicating that if he ever did anything unfaithful to her, she wouldn’t let him off.
Zhao Xuran shivered, "I’m really scared, don’t worry."
The two were intimately developing photos in the darkroom, while Zhao Guangran paced back and forth outside.
After finishing the photo shoot, Zhao Guangran realized that though their mom wanted Ni Zi to shoot some photos for Black Ointment’s ad, she definitely wouldn’t ask for so many.
As for why there were so many demands, it was definitely Gong Ruini’s idea.
This angered Zhao Guangran, never meeting such a person who abused her power, even if she’s his sister-in-law.
This time, even if his brother was inside, it was useless. His reputation had to be preserved.
Zhao Guangran thought well, but when the darkroom door opened and he was about to grab Gong Ruini to question her, he was pulled back by his older brother.
"Big brother." Zhao Guangran looked aggrieved.
Zhao Xuran snapped and threw a stack of photos at Zhao Guangran’s chest, "Nice poses, very photogenic."
"Who am I? I am Zhao Guangran, handsome, so the photos turn out well." Zhao Guangran wore a face of "I don’t want this either, but what can I do" attitude.
"Isn’t it because Ni Zi’s photography skills are good?" Zhao Xuran would never praise his own brother. Even if he was really good, he couldn’t just straightforwardly commend him.
Otherwise, this kid would totally let himself go, so a little occasional discouragement was necessary.
"My sister-in-law indeed has good photography skills, but brother, you must admit that the quality really depends on who she’s photographing."
Zhao Xuran didn’t bother arguing with Zhao Guangran on this. It was better to spend time with his wife than discussing such trivialities.
"I’m leaving."
Zhao Guangran was just about to say goodbye to his brother and then go off to admire the photos, but then realized, "These photos?"
"Your sister-in-law is nice to you. Knowing you were waiting outside, she wanted to make sure you had a memento, so she printed two copies." With that, Zhao Xuran retreated.
What, no way, two copies? Zhao Guangran felt like going mad! How could they do this? Even though he didn’t look at the negatives, just seeing Gong Ruini laugh like that, there were definitely some photos damaging his glorious image.
"Hey, how could this happen? Shouldn’t you have told me?" Zhao Guangran wanted to cry, "How am I supposed to face people now?"
Talking about facing people? If Zhao Guangran hadn’t brought it up, all would be forgettable. But raising it now brought back memories for Zhao Xuran of a certain photo from their seaside vacation last year.
Patting his brother on the shoulder, "Remember those beach photos from our vacation last year?"
"Don’t worry; ever since then, people can accept any of your photos."
Is he even his real brother? Zhao Guangran looked at Zhao Xuran, who was already walking away, feeling helplessly resigned.
If time could rewind, Zhao Guangran vowed that even if that sea crab pinched off his toenail, he wouldn’t have looked for Gong Ruini.
The final result was suffering terrible pain and ending up in several photos, which people discussed for a long time.
Whenever he remembers how he was back then, Zhao Guangran only thinks it was a nightmare. If he had a choice, he’d rather sign an outrageous contract than let those photos out.
No, gotta go back. Snapping out of his melancholy, Zhao Guangran started chasing after Gong Ruini and the others.
But no matter how fast he ran, by the time he arrived, he could already hear bursts of laughter coming from inside the house.
Okay, he was late. Since he was late and couldn’t stop it, his best option was to quickly retreat.
If he didn’t leave and let those unscrupulous fellows see him, they’d definitely make a good mockery out of him.
The thinking was spot on, and Zhao Guangran’s turnaround was quick.
But could it be faster than the speed of someone’s eyes?
"Brother Guangran,"
"Brother Guangran, come look at the photos."
Really, it was enough to make Zhao Guangran want to cry today. Everyone’s calling him brother so warmly; as if he couldn’t guess why they were so enthusiastic?
Zhao Guangran could ignore those little rascals, but he couldn’t ignore Zhan Jing and the others.
When the Old Buddha summoned, he had to show up. Humph, just right for complaining. Although knowing the chances were slim, if he didn’t fight for his own interests, who in the family would?
