Baby with Daoist Monarch System
Chapter 672 - 274: Colossal Creature, Majestic as a Mountain of White Bones
In the Great Mountain, dense fog enveloped, and the mist above the river seemed to rise as if it were the river’s own evaporation, resembling an Immortal Realm.
Xu Binghu stepped into the river, the icy water incessantly washing over his feet, yet there was no discomfort at all; he simply moved towards the direction of the flower petals.
"This bewildering miasma and mist are actually growing thicker and thicker!"
Xu Binghu sighed as he continued walking.
The mist had become countless times denser than before, and time seemed to be frozen, imperceptible in its passing, as if it wished to devour everything.
It was terrifying. Very unsettling.
"Huh?"
Suddenly, Xu Binghu halted, but beneath him, he could still feel the river’s flow passing by his feet, standing right in the middle of the river.
"After walking for so long, how come I still haven’t seen the snake head falling into the river?"
Although he couldn’t see what lay below, when walking in the direction of the petals, he was supposed to be on the same straight line as where the snake head fell. With Xu Binghu’s current level of cultivation, maintaining a straight line while walking could be done with his eyes closed, even in the river.
Furthermore, when the fog first rose, he could vaguely see the snake’s head and the blood trailing behind it. It had been so long now, and there was still nothing in sight—very strange.
"Could it be that time has truly stopped in this place?"
Just as Xu Binghu whispered softly, the surrounding fog seemed to hear his voice. The thick fog began to gradually thin, like a curtain being drawn back, and his eyes suddenly became clear.
Feeling this unexpected change, Xu Binghu was overjoyed and exclaimed, "Indeed, walking towards the petals was the correct path!!!"
With that, he looked once more in the direction of the petals and saw dozens of lightly pink peach flower petals floating gently in the center of the river, and the river itself became clearly visible.
And beneath his feet, the snake head was right there, along with the blood behind it.
Everything seemed to revert to the scene before the fog descended!!
Only, the current view had changed.
"This..."
Xu Binghu stared with wide eyes at the scene before him.
Looking around, both sides of the river were filled with blooming peach flower petals, floating in mid-air, concealing the branches of the peach trees below, like colorful clouds floating in the air, extending into a dreamlike magnificent view.
The sunlight previously obscured by the fog now filtered through the sparse gaps between the peach flowers, casting a few rays of sunlight onto the river below by Xu Binghu’s feet.
Looking down, the water sparkled, clear as glass. Next to Xu Binghu’s feet, several fish flashed with white flowing light darted joyfully about. 𝒇𝒓𝒆𝒆𝙬𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝒎
"This....where is this? I’ve never seen such a scene before, it’s so beautiful. If my wife were here, she would surely love it!!"
Xu Binghu gazed in a daze at the scene before him, utterly captivated. His lifelong learning couldn’t capture such a view.
He stood in the middle of the river for a while, then reined in his heart spirit. Though the scenery was beautiful, the priority was to find a way out quickly. Since reaching here, the fog had cleared away, meaning the path he took was correct!!
After pondering for a moment, Xu Binghu stepped onto the riverbank, heading deeper into the Peach Grove. As he went, the branches of peach blossoms brushed against his head, nearly reaching him, carrying a fragrance that intertwined with his path.
Over time, Xu Binghu seemed to lose track of time, unaware of how long he’d been walking. The Peach Groves beside the river slowly disappeared, the peach trees became sparse, the river narrowed, and soon the river vanished completely, unveiling before him a towering peak piercing the clouds.
Between the peaks, there was only a narrow passage, just enough for one person to barely squeeze through.
"Should I go in?" Xu Binghu mused.
He had never been to this place before. The strange dense fog and the beautiful yet eerie Peach Grove posed mysteries and potential dangers in the cave.
Xu Binghu pondered as he approached the cave entrance. Looking through, he saw only a pitch blackness, as if all light had been swallowed.
"The entrance is so dark, not a speck of light. Entering could be very dangerous!!" Xu Binghu conducted a risk assessment.
He had nothing to illuminate his way, and the cave seemed to absorb all light. If danger arose inside, there would be no escape from death!!
After thinking for a moment, Xu Binghu decisively stepped into the black mouth of the cave.
"Since I’m already here, there’s no reason to turn back. Following the petals did lead me away from that foggy place, and this cave, though unknown, is at least safer than the mist-filled mountain!!"
As he spoke, he ventured further into the cave, his voice echoing within like countless Xu Binghus speaking at once. Each step brushed his swaying body against the narrow stone walls on either side.
"Tap---tap---tap---tap---"
Steadying his heart spirit, Xu Binghu continued onward into the pitch-dark cave. Each breath resounded like thunderous roars in the silence.
As time dragged on, the stone walls that once scraped Xu Binghu’s body seemed to drift away, the echoes within the cave grew more hollow, revealing an immensely vast space.
