Apocalypse Lord
Chapter 239 - 166: Doomsday Simulation
"If you cast your gaze upon the endless cosmos and the river of time, ’higher beings’ aren’t actually rare."
The White Crown King spoke succinctly. Following Lin Lan’s gaze, he shifted his eyes to the other people present.
"Saint Emperor, Great Crown Master, Venerate, Star Monarch..."
He recited a long list of titles as if he were listing dishes, smiling as he said, "The populace always has various names to call their leaders, but now that we’re in the Hall of Destiny, we have a unified identity."
The White Crown King looked at the gray-haired youth before him, solemnly saying, "From now on, you are ’Humanity’s Apostle.’
Humanity’s Apostle...
Lin Lan nodded, seemingly deep in thought.
As the White Crown King spoke, he observed the other’s eyes.
He could see that even though this young ’King’ had been forcibly brought into a foreign Divine Realm and faced with cold eyes and threats from others, he still maintained a calm composure.
But that was nothing extraordinary; everyone qualified to stand in the Hall of Destiny was a leader of civilization like no other, and mediocrity would be an ’outlier’ here.
"May I ask which era this is?" Lin Lan asked, meeting the other’s eyes directly.
"I don’t recommend you rashly ask others that question."
The White Crown King merely shook his head slightly.
"Just be patient for a while, Lord Lin Lan."
He bypassed the topic and continued, "Soon, a Celestial Official will lead you to open your door and proceed to your exclusive calculation task."
Lin Lan raised an eyebrow. "Calculation task?"
Seeing the slightly baffled look in the other’s eyes, the White Crown King’s face still bore a patient and gentle smile.
Born to be a wise king, his intelligent eyes were warm and bright, making others instinctively want to trust and follow him.
"Simply put, every Monarch fortunate enough to step into the Hall of Destiny receives the blessing of the Celestial Principle, but also bears its curse."
The White Crown King looked toward the magnificent and solemn doors on the wall.
He spoke gently, "Open your door, and the gods will use their great power to calculate the dire crises your civilization will face under your leadership, allowing you to transcend the shackles of time and confront the moment of civilization’s annihilation."
Lin Lan felt a chill within.
"However, the gods only calculate disasters; they do not simply hand us solutions to those disasters."
The White Crown King smiled, "The Celestial Principle will coldly simulate the future, yet humanity will not easily abandon hope. The Hall of Destiny is a platform for us Apostles to communicate with one another."
As the White Crown King carefully explained, a realization flashed across Lin Lan’s eyes.
What is an unsolvable problem for one Monarch might be a trivial issue in the eyes of another, and vice versa.
Discussing solutions to the Celestial Calamity and mutual aid between civilizations together is much better than facing the apocalypse alone.
Lin Lan fell into contemplation.
Dr. Tianli gathered these people together, intending to unite past civilizations to collectively resist the end?
But as he looked around the vast hall, he noticed the environment remained as indifferent as ever.
The White Crown King naturally noticed the confusion in the youth’s eyes.
"Because in the ultimate answer calculated by the Doctor, 99% of civilizations will collapse and perish in the apocalypse. Dr. Tianli never errs, and this destiny cannot be changed."
The White Crown King softly explained, "This means that less than 1% of civilizations will be able to continue into the future."
Lin Lan instinctively furrowed his brows, grasping the underlying meaning of the other’s words.
Under the shadow of the ultimate answer, Monarchs facing the apocalypse together instantly become competitors. The tickets to the future are limited, and only a very small portion of civilizations can survive.
Monarchs will not easily assist each other.
Given that their civilization could be mercilessly eliminated at any moment, they can only cautiously choose their partners for cooperation, forming one small circle after another.
Goodness gracious, is Dr. Tianli rearing gu here?
Lin Lan’s expression turned peculiar.
Just then, the ground suddenly shook, interrupting the conversation between the two.
Lin Lan turned around, only to see the grand doors on the wall behind him, adorned with magnificent reliefs, slowly open to reveal several figures emerging.
They were all valiant in stature, with extraordinary demeanors. Some furrowed their brows while others strode lightly,
"Please! Please! Help my homeland!"
The next second, a desperate shout echoed in everyone’s ears.
Only to see an ancient king with an iron crown rush out of the doors, kneeling on the ground as he bowed heavily to the expressionless crowd.
This elderly man, dressed simply, with a sturdy physique and scars on his face and arms, silently narrated tales of his achievements and courage.
"It’s the seventh time! I still can’t find a solution! None of my descendants can stop the fate of world’s end!"
However, he had already fallen into madness: "No technology is working! No magic is working! We can’t even escape!!"
The old king, whose status was above millions, was weeping bitterly, humbly begging the indifferent monarchs.
"I don’t have much time left! If this continues, everyone will die; I don’t want to give up on them... I can’t give up on them!"
The iron crown had already worn into the old king’s forehead, the clean floor was stained red with blood: "Help me, I beg of you! I, Alfonso III, am willing to become your servant..."
"I just want them to live... just want them to live..."
Repeated apocalypse calculations had completely broken his resolute and proud heart.
Still, there was no response. The accompanying monarchs talked amongst themselves, stepping over the old king’s body, and others in the hall withdrew their gaze, leaving the old king feeling abandoned by the entire world.
Even the White Crown King remained silent.
No one empathizes with the weak; the laws of the Hall of Destiny have always been cold and cruel.
"Everyone’s apocalypse calculations are different..."
The White Crown King sighed, his eyes showing some concern: "Take me for example, the calculation I’m currently navigating is an enormous stellar wildfire; the planet I manage and the surrounding mining stars are all within the range of the solar storm."
Lin Lan was slightly stunned; in the competitive environment they were in, he actually voluntarily disclosed the dilemma he was facing.
The White Crown King looked into Lin Lan’s eyes.
The young monarch’s gaze became sincere: "Lin Lan, perhaps we can help each other. Can I ask about your situation?"
Lin Lan thought for a moment and truthfully responded: "Currently, I manage a small island nation with a population of two million."
The White Crown King was left in disbelief, his expression changing slightly, his face instantly showing an expression of ’you must be joking, right?’
"Wait, could it be..."
He stepped back, furrowing his brow: "Are you not some humanity’s apostle, but rather a stowaway swept into the hall by a lingering dream?"
Pfft.
Someone laughed out loud, Lin Lan turned his head, finding the nearby black-robed "Saint Emperor" covering his mouth and nose, while the frost-faced female attendant gripped her long sword, looking at him with increasing vigilance and indifference.
Lin Lan understood, the Saint Emperor’s laughter wasn’t even mocking him, but mocking the White Crown King in front of him.
The White Crown King fell into silence.
Although the young man maintained his politeness, a look of disappointment and helplessness flashed in his eyes.
"Brother White Crown!"
At this moment, a girl adorned in golden veils and a jeweled crown approached.
She glanced at Lin Lan unhappily, then gently beckoned to the young man: "The next calculation is about to begin." 𝒻𝘳ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝒷𝘯ℴ𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝑐ℴ𝑚
"Coming."
The White Crown King replied with a smile.
"Well..." Lin Lan said, brazenly asking: "Can I participate in your calculation topic?"
White Crown King: ...
He was already starting to regret dealing with this guy.
"Alright then." Lin Lan had already received an answer from his eyes, shrugging: "If not, then that’s fine."
"Don’t worry, I guess the calculation topic you’re encountering won’t be too hard, so I believe you’ll get through it safely."
The enthusiasm on the White Crown King’s face had noticeably diminished.
He forced a smile: "But don’t lose heart, even if you’re a stowaway, just the fact that you’re lucky enough to get here means you still have the qualification to bear humanity’s weight."
The girl in the jeweled crown tugged on the White Crown King’s sleeve, her eyes fearful Lin Lan would continue to pester them.
But before leaving, the White Crown King advised Lin Lan: "Keep a steady mind, don’t be afraid of any apocalypse calculations, because they haven’t really happened yet..."
Lin Lan nodded, watching as their figure disappeared through the door.
·
"Ah, ah, ah, how annoying! They actually dare to look down on a great existence of high stature!"
The black cat had already erupted in the system interface.
Vivian began rolling back and forth in front of Lin Lan: "Lin Lan! I can’t swallow this pride! Go tell them your identity right now! Go now, go now!"
"Alright, alright, calm down for a bit."
Lin Lan looked helpless, patiently soothing: "We’re here for the development of the Ark Kingdom, not to compare national strength or identity."
Just then, the hall seemed to flash, and a woman in a silver-white robe stood before the gray-haired boy.
"Honorable Lord Lin Lan."
The bionic celestial official faced Lin Lan, bowing slightly: "Shall we begin the apocalypse calculation?"
