Apocalypse Lord
Chapter 235 - 162: Nightmare (Part 2)
Lin Lan: ...
Good heavens, I’ve really brought back a living ancestor.
"I should have described the current situation of the Ark Kingdom to you, right?" Lin Lan’s tone was somewhat helpless.
"Ah, as a guest from beyond, can’t you even manage to discipline a few unruly children..."
The black cat had a peculiar expression: "Really makes one feel regretful, Lin Lan, if only you were a bit more promising..."
Lin Lan’s forehead popped a vein.
He silently adjusted Vivian’s priority on his list.
The points are really limited, rather than wasting resources on this nonsense-spouting cat, it would be better to invest them in Captain Ota, the absolute strongman.
He lowered his head and refocused on the papers on the table.
Developing territory isn’t done just by moving your lips; it’s not merely borrowing memories from the past life and slightly improving the laws of the Ark Kingdom according to the current situation and exhausting Lin Lan for an entire day.
"Are we just going to wait idly for the end to come knocking?" Vivian circled around Lin Lan anxiously.
"The only thing we can do now is hold our ground and proceed gradually."
Lin Lan picked up reports submitted by the Civilian Corps from various island territories to Seagull Capital City.
He tapped the papers and patiently said, "Before focusing far ahead, laying a solid foundation under our feet is most important."
Though Lin Lan had crushed the original class system of the Lion Heart Kingdom, since the implementation of the new law, the jails left by Lion Heart nobility have never been empty.
Under the lack of education, knowing that the nobility could no longer rule them, many locals had committed cruel acts under the watchful eyes of the Civilian Corps.
"You Gods claim to protect your ’children’, yet you can’t even discipline them."
Lin Lan’s gaze turned cold: "But I’m different, anyone who dares to violate the laws of the Ark, I will unhesitatingly squeeze out those festering sores."
Vivian finally quieted down, the black cat watched the Ark Leader’s writing, in her impression, all laws eventually became tools for Immortals to control others.
However, the Foreigner in front seemed extremely disgusted with this...
After a while, Lin Lan stopped his pen, copying everything mechanically was unrealistic, he could only adapt and introduce laws suitable for the local reality bit by bit.
Aside from providing a broad direction, this was Lin Lan’s main task now.
Lin Lan rested for a bit, then he pulled out Centurion Colin’s detailed reports on Camelot Port.
Before the battle at Seagull Port, the Empire’s warship had already entered Ark Kingdom’s territory, and without hesitation, launched an attack on the Alliance’s other legion!
Lin Lan naturally understood Frost Falcon Duke’s intentions.
The Empire has made clear their goodwill towards Ark and subtly demonstrated their strength.
Thanks to the Commercial Union’s assistance, both sides had a common enemy, cooperation thus became a certainty.
Lin Lan patiently awaited Frost Falcon Duke’s response.
He didn’t know how much the Empire needed Ark to analyze the Nightmare Scourge, but the current Ark Kingdom desperately needed the Empire’s shipbuilding technology.
Opening a stable path through the chaotic concepts left behind by the Gods was a unique highlight technology of the new era civilization.
This couldn’t be brought by the card system focused on the ’past’.
Lin Lan’s gaze became solemn, having defeated the Alliance Battleship head-on, the Ark Kingdom couldn’t produce its own warship.
If Roman Judge hadn’t held back the Alliance Battleship, the opponent could’ve turned around and entered the sea lane, leaving the Sun Warriors glaring from the shore.
Whether to find new sea routes and continents or hunt Celestial Calamity followers in the Gray Realm, Ark Kingdom requires the Empire’s technology to break through.
Lin Lan glanced at the Night Owl, sitting in stand-by mode in the corner of his office, suppressing the urge to send a message to Frost Falcon via the gaming console.
Since both sides have needs, whoever speaks first is bound to be at a disadvantage.
Ark Kingdom’s overwhelming defeat of the Alliance’s warship was why Lin Lan kept composed, he just needed to maintain poised calmness in the face of threats.
Speaking of which, despite the immense size of the Empire, Lin Lan seldom heard about it within his territory, even adventurous seafarers avoided discussing those cold and ruthless Empire beasts.
Lin Lan subconsciously recalled the figures of No. 444 and Osguta.
They were like starving wolf packs on the ice plains, cold and ruthless, vicious beyond belief, yet unwaveringly following the rules set by their leader, even willing to sacrifice their lives.
However, at this moment, Vivian’s eerie voice suddenly pierced Lin Lan’s ears.
"Lin Lan, do you want to know the essence behind the Nightmare Scourge?"
Lin Lan hesitated, he turned around, finding the black cat’s usual unserious expression now rare and severe.
Vivian stared intently at the description of the Empire’s warship on the papers, instantly capturing the Empire’s technology behind it, and the harsh price it brought.
In Lin Lan’s solemn gaze, the black cat from the box revealed a chilling truth, whispering:
—"The Nightmare Scourge is a part of Dr. Tianli."
Lin Lan’s expression turned to one of shock.
"From the moment Dr. Tianli was born, he was calculating the destiny of everything in the world, and at the end of the Second Era, he successfully computed the final answer."
Vivian softly described the world’s secret known only to Gods: "This world will eventually fall into destruction, everything will sink into an unknowing, uncaring void, into eternal extinction."
"You mean, Dr. Tianli foresaw the future apocalypse?" Lin Lan slightly furrowed his brows.
"Not foresaw, but calculated."
Vivian corrected: "Regardless of how calculated, Celestial Principle would see that inevitable outcome."
"Since the Empire fell into the Nightmare Scourge, it means all the tragedies their children saw in dreams will come true, no wonder they’re in such hurry."
The black cat gazed firmly at Lin Lan’s system panel: "Cruel nightmares will soon be their destiny because that is Dr. Tianli’s calculated answer."
Then, at the moment when the God personally spoke the ultimate truth, the Foreigner’s system panel unexpectedly glowed with a soft light, the obscure Dungeon Card instantly became clear! The stagnant progress bar finally rushed to the end!

The new dungeon is finally opening!
·
The cold wind howled ceaselessly, corpses scattered across the frozen ground, a biting blizzard obscured Osguta’s view.
A man draped in a fur cloak limped through the city’s ruins.
He expertly pushed open a broken door, stepping into a ghastly white room, his own corpse glaring at him.
"Embrace the destiny of the future, Osguta, how long will you struggle in dull reality?"
The distorted corpse emitted a piercing laugh: "We have long attained immortality in the future!"
Osguta said nothing, casually injecting a Rationality Stabilizing Potion into his neck, and began probing the equipment on the corpse.
