Chapter 121: No Mercy

"Jewell! Drop everything right now!" Aiden yelled, kicking open his office doors.

Jewell was busy with another patient, but the moment he heard Aiden’s voice, he dropped everything. When he noticed Lily in Aiden’s arms, his face was drained of color.

"What happened to her?" he asked, guiding Aiden to put Lily on a bed there.

"Someone attacked her," Aiden said through gritted teeth.

Cue another shocked expression from Jewell.

Even when James had tried abusing Lily’s power, he hadn’t caused any actual harm to her. Still, Aiden made him live a fate worse than death. He couldn’t imagine what would happen to the people who made her bleed.

At that moment, he knew the people responsible wouldn’t get a painless death, if they were to get the release of death at all. Jewell examined Lily’s wounds and frowned. It was a deep gash, but thankfully, it wasn’t untreatable.

"I would need—" Jewell had barely said anything when Glenn arrived there with a body bag.

Thanks to Aiden’s quest, there was no shortage of corpses in the basement. Since he knew how Jewell’s skills worked, Aiden had already given Glenn a mission to bring corpses to the medicare center.

However, even after seeing three corpses inside the body bag, Aiden was displeased.

"Why did you bring just three?" Aiden yelled at him. "Go get more!"

"This will be enough, sir," Jewell said, trying to calm him down before working on Lily.

While he did that, Aiden stood beside the bed and watched. Seeing Lily’s bubbly and cheerful self turned into this weak and injured state made him furious beyond limits.

As much as he wanted to rip the heads of those two bastards, he remained calm and sent Alisha a text via the system, telling her to get to the medicare center.

He didn’t want to tell her about Lily in such a soulless manner, however, it seemed the talk had already spread throughout the building.

A few minutes later, Alisha and Karina came rushing into the medicare center, and Alisha was crying already. The moment she saw Lily lying on the bed with blood on her face, she ran to Aiden and clung to him tightly. Tears flowed down her cheeks.

"Aiden... my Lily... is she okay?" she cried, her entire body kept shaking even in Aiden’s embrace.

Aiden didn’t reply and just wrapped an arm around her, pulling her closer. He had seen Jewell’s extraordinary abilities and knew Lily was safe. Only after that did he turn to look at Karina.

Karina flinched as if she had wronged him. She hadn’t done anything to warrant that reaction, but his expression was so frightening that she couldn’t help but react accordingly.

"I brought some clothes..." she said, flinging the bag over to him.

"Hold her for a moment," he instructed after catching the bag with his free arm.

Karina nodded and gently took Alisha into her arms. Alisha kept crying but stayed with Karina. Aiden gave Lily one last look.

The bleeding had already stopped, and it must have felt good because she finally let go of the puppies. Only after that did he turn and leave the medicare center for the third floor.

As the elevator doors opened, Aiden noticed the two men had been tied together, stripped of their weapons. The two might have fought the old folks to escape, but with Marcus there, the two didn’t dare to make a move.

They even offered to tie themselves up, thinking Aiden would show some leniency towards them. They were mistaken. After all, Aiden didn’t even offer any leniency to James, so what made them think he would give a rat’s ass about them?

Aiden did not say a single word. He walked up to the two men, grabbed them by their collars, and lifted them off the ground.

"Since you like mutts so much," he snarled, looking at them alternatively. "You can live like them from now."

Just like that, he dragged them into the elevator and pressed the button for the basement floor one. Marcus and others didn’t say a peep about what happened there.

They wouldn’t have said a word even if Aiden had killed them right there. They might think he was being excessive, but none of them would voice their thoughts out, or they would suffer the same fate as the two fools who attacked Lily.

The two men tried to speak, but the moment they tried, Aiden dislocated their jaws with a finger. As he did, the handrail stained with Lily’s blood caught his eye.

He almost lost his cool and wanted to end them there, but he held on to the shred of sanity he had.

Aiden knew once he started killing humans, he wouldn’t be able to hold back and start killing everyone for the slightest grievances. It was for that reason that he handed James over to Jewell.

When the doors opened on B1, the smell of corpses hit them. This was the area where ghouls were farmed for Amaela. But Aiden was not here to turn these men into ghouls. Their fate would be far worse than that.

He pulled the two men out of the elevator and threw them onto the cold floor. The ghoul stopped what they were doing and turned towards them.

Perhaps they thought it was time to eat, but they lost interest after seeing living humans. Unless Aiden or Amaela instructed, they wouldn’t dare harm a human. That rule was ingrained in them.

Meanwhile, to the men’s surprise, Aiden undid their restraints. The two saw the ghouls doing farm work and thought Aiden would make them do the same.

Farming with ghouls wasn’t something they would choose to do, but it was much better than dying.

However, the next second, Aiden dismantled their cooked-up happiness.

"I’ll give you two choices," he said, pointing at the farthest supporting beam in the basement. "One of you will ram your head into all of these beams and the other will castrate himself."

With that, he tossed a freshly bought kukri in between the two and sat on a seat that the ghoul’s made using their own bodies, to watch the show between the two culprits.
