Gu Minxing’s words shook Gu Ming to the core.

Right, why had he gone soft back then, letting himself be controlled by the Gu Family Elders? He’d even been schemed against by the clan, had that one-night stand with Yang Meiyin, got her pregnant with his child, and handed her the perfect leverage to force him into a divorce!

Just like Gu Minxing said, if he hadn’t treated the Gu Family Elders like something important, what the hell were those old bastards anyway!

So he went on, "She’s only entered my bedroom twice. The first time was after you left me. I was drunk, and the Gu Family let her into my room. That time, she put on your clothes and did her makeup like you, making me mistake her for you, so... that’s how Gu Xing came about."

Thinking of how Yang Meiyin had used Gu Xing to get into the Gu Family, Hai Xue felt extremely displeased; she let out a cold snort.

Gu Ming continued, "The second time was because Dongxing’s two aunts were unhappy with her and scolded her for marrying into the Gu Family only to raise another man’s son—Yang Meiyin tells people outside that Gu Xing is her late ex-husband’s posthumous child. Hai Xue was annoyed. "She didn’t dress up as me that time, did she?"

Gu Ming gave a wry smile. "She didn’t pretend to be you that time, but she did drug me. I passed out. I don’t remember a thing that happened."

Hai Xue was stunned. He’d actually kept Yang Meiyin out of his room for over ten years?

He had really stayed faithful to her all this time? If that was true, then the ten-plus years she’d waited in vain were worth it.

She still asked again, just to be sure. "Are you telling the truth?"

"Of course it’s the truth." Gu Ming smiled bitterly. "If it weren’t, why would she have to drug me and set me up just to get into my room? And why would she have to go outside to find another man just to have a child?"

Hai Xue was truly moved. She had always thought she’d lost to Yang Meiyin, and because of that, she’d tried every possible way to step on her. She’d even let herself become unrecognizable for it.

But she’d never imagined that Yang Meiyin had never really gotten Gu Ming at all. Even holding the title of Mrs. Gu, it was nothing more than a title.
