A Sorcerer’s Journey
Chapter 1182 - 1138: Shadowing
Having lost Simba’s company, Green still had to continue onward.
According to Simba, in the absence of rapid progress, it would take hundreds of years to reach the end of the skeleton, so finding the body of the Sovereign of the Light of Hope would take an unknown amount of time.
In such circumstances, after a decision, Green chose to abandon the self-sealing technique power storage.
The seven-colored runes on the body surface, intertwined with neon light, were forgotten and sealed away entirely in the "Book of Truth". Green’s body gradually became transparent, sensing the direction indicated by the Hope Light Shroud and continuing forward in a hidden state.
Who knows what lies hidden in the other direction pointed by the Scepter of Hope?
Yet as the key of a powerful dominator, the Scepter of Hope must conceal extremely precious items, hidden deeper within this illusionary environment...
...
Three years later.
Through constant stops and starts, frequently evading the relentless onslaught of temporal storms, since meeting with what was called the Will of Truth, Green had an even deeper apprehension of the Dimensional Esophagus.
This was no longer the Material World he was used to.
In this retrogression of flowing light, or Dimensional Esophagus, besides the exiled powerful World Masters from the Endless World, there were also some deep illusionary disasters that had been sealed within. The biggest danger, however, was the constant potential appearance of other same-level illusionary rifts and some incomprehensible bizarre phantom phenomena.
After all, when there wasn’t a dimensional war, many indigestible impurities from the Endless World gathered here, needing other, usually more dangerous deep illusionary worlds to balance the remainder here. Thus, the World Masters exiled here, understanding its ruthless terror, rarely roamed as recklessly as Green did.
They were similar to Simba, even if it meant starving to death in that metal forest, unwilling to face the endless, unpredictably appearing absurdities.
Rumbling...
Intense energy shockwaves approached from afar. Under the Robe of Appearances, Green, with his Face of Truth revealing his three-colored light eyes in constant change, looked beyond the rocky remains at the approaching battling sides.
The slaughter here was far more brutal than in the Material World.
The lack of material resources coupled with numerous genuine strong beings, the longer Green stayed in this illusionary world, the more profound his understanding of its cruelty became.
However, this time the combatants Green witnessed were different from before.
The violent energy fluctuations and life auras clearly showed the status of the participants as Sixth Level creatures, and what drew Green’s attention more was their contention over a silver goblet.
The battling sides, one was a purple gourd monster, surrounded by swirls of golden pebbles morphing into various forms, in a defensive stance.
On the other side was a cactus, over a hundred meters tall even without revealing its true body, covered in golden thorns, surrounded by humming companion insects, in an attacking stance, trying continuously to seize the silver goblet caught between the energy waves of both sides.
What caught Green’s eye was not just the confrontation between two plant-type World Masters. With the insight of the Face of Truth, Green easily spotted a Cyclops Creature hidden under a tattered invisible cloak, full of black gas, with only one ghastly white eye exposed, closely following, ready to pounce for the goblet.
"What is this thing?"
Concealed in cover, Green’s curiosity was piqued as he peered at the silver goblet.
Enveloped by an unknown mysterious power, two snake-like creatures formed the handles of the goblet. They had horned heads, four-clawed bodies, glowing green scales all over, and two whiskers spread out with an air of majesty.
"This aura feels somewhat similar to the Resentful Ghost beside Senior Sister! But it seems to lack self-consciousness, leaving only an empty shell. Could it be... the Immortal Domain World once engaged in dimensional warfare? Or perhaps, a powerful being from there perished here?"
With such thoughts, Green’s interest in the silver goblet intensified.
After some contemplation, Green decided to covertly follow the Cyclops Creature under the invisible cloak.
Snatching it from two Sixth Level creatures was far too risky, but following this adeptly stealthy Level Five creature would be much easier.
The battle between two Sixth Level beings was already a violent natural catastrophe. Such open boldness, given the truly terrifying existences unknown in the Dimensional Esophagus, showed how critical this silver goblet was!
Approaching the invisible cloak creature, Green noticed a crocodile-like tail twitching restlessly. 𝒇𝒓𝙚𝒆𝔀𝓮𝓫𝒏𝓸𝙫𝓮𝓵.𝓬𝙤𝙢
Evidently agitated by the lack of opportunity to strike, the longer the delay, the more likely other strong beings would notice. If by any unfortunate chance, some ancient monster had been living in this Dimensional Esophagus for eons, almost consumed by the Endless World, discovered them, no one would be leaving alive!
"Shoo, shoo, shoo, shoo, is food being delivered?"
From afar, a colossal, multicolored octopus monster, spanning several hundred meters, came sprinting across the ground towards the gourd monster and cactus.
With its imposing presence, it clearly dominated the scene, the earth shaking with "rumble, rumble" sounds along its path. It was hard to imagine this being was once an oceanic creature before being in the Dimensional Esophagus.
Under the Green Truth Mask, Green’s three-colored light eyes widened at the sight of the massive octopus.
"Its true body... is so immense!?"
A true body stretching tens of thousands of meters, reminiscent of a relatively powerful medium-sized world where terrifying sea monsters would periodically wreak havoc. In response, a rising civilization would establish a strong sealing skill to banish the oceanic monster into the Dimensional Esophagus, choosing permanent exile, letting it be digested by the rules of the Endless World.
The gourd monster and cactus abruptly stopped their mutual conflict, fleeing into the distance in shock.
The Cyclops Creature under the invisible cloak hesitated briefly, but ultimately decided to stealthily follow them, clearly undetected by the massive octopus, nor by Green under the Robe of Appearances.
Gurgle, gurgle, gurgle, gurgle...
A boundless swamp, bubbles surfacing beneath the mire.
After escaping for seven days, several times injuring themselves via invisible temporal faults from their high velocity, the gourd monster and cactus monster arrived at this marshland.
No need for explanation, the passage of history surely included an elemental creature engaged in dimensional warfare, offering its body to the Dimensional Esophagus, becoming this endless mire.
Suddenly, a small black sphere emerged from the mud bath, resembling a black charcoal piece, only a few centimeters in size, appearing in the low sky, blocking the path of the cactus and gourd monster!
