Chapter 460: Busyness

Xu Mumu found some free time and visited the office where Yin Yang worked a few times. Seeing firsthand how much work Yin Yang had there, Xu Mumu decided not to bother him anymore.

Every time she went, he would take quite some time off to keep her company and have fun.

Since the new policy came out about half a year ago, more and more people started doing business, and many bold ones began emerging.

The situation was gradually improving. In some places, land was slowly being distributed to farmers, and the domestic conditions were getting better. Even though Xu Mumu spent most of her time at school, she could feel that the Imperial City was becoming more and more prosperous.

There were even vendors selling buns and stuffed buns at the school gate, with a variety of food choices. If she got tired of the food in the school cafeteria, she could improve her meals outside.

A semester passed quickly, and it soon came time for final exams. Xu Mumu didn’t feel much pressure; she was more concerned about going to the seaside with Yin Yang.

Having lived through two lifetimes, she had never been to the seaside and longed for everything it offered.

The exam content was just the usual stuff. The more she learned, the more Xu Mumu realized how simple these things really were.

Looking at the other students in the classroom nervously reviewing, Xu Mumu wore a faint smile and joined them in reading.

While reading, Xu Mumu also considered the possibility of graduating early. She had learned everything that needed to be learned in university and now preferred to tinker with parts in the lab.

Upon returning to the small courtyard, Xu Mumu shared her thoughts with Yin Yang.

"You should make the decision yourself. I don’t want you to exhaust yourself," Yin Yang said seriously.

"How could I be exhausted? I’ve already learned everything; I don’t need to spend as much time studying as you and Huo Qingze," Xu Mumu replied with a smile.

"Indeed, staying in school in your current situation doesn’t mean much anymore," Yin Yang nodded, acknowledging that Xu Mumu’s situation was indeed different from his and Huo Qingze’s.

"You won’t be able to apply this term, you’ll have to wait until next term," Yin Yang said with a laugh. Now there’s another batch of college entrance exams, and next term, more students will come.

"Then I’ll wait until next term. Besides, you haven’t finished your work here yet, so staying one more term isn’t a problem," Xu Mumu said with a smile.

Yin Yang was busy not only with the stall he set up with Huo Qingze but also with the Yin Family’s business. The Yin Family’s main industry was in jewelry and accessories, but they also dabbled in other areas.

Previously, under special circumstances, other industries were closed. Now reopening, there’s naturally a pile of work to do. The Yin Family has only him one can rely on to decide, so he has to handle everything personally.

Every day he’s exhausted, and when he gets home, Xu Mumu always helps give him a massage.

Watching Yin Yang being so busy every day, Xu Mumu would worry and wonder if this guy would tire himself to death one day. It couldn’t go on like this.

Knowing Xu Mumu’s thoughts, Yin Yang smiled helplessly and pinched her cheek, "Don’t worry, the businesses reopening just means a lot of work now, but it won’t be like this in the future. In the future, only important matters will require my decisions."

Currently, there aren’t many trusted people by his side. Many aren’t truly trustworthy, making work inconvenient. Training someone to become a close confidant will take time, and being a hands-off leader isn’t as easy as it sounds.

Xu Mumu understood Yin Yang’s difficulties, and it had been a long time since they both went out to have fun.

The exams arrived on schedule, and Xu Mumu confidently filled out the entire test sheet. Two days before, she completed the practical exam. She only felt that these things posed no difficulty to her.

After submitting the test paper and leaving the classroom, there weren’t many who finished early. Xu Mumu leisurely headed home.

On the way back, surprisingly, she met Xiang Meng, whom she had seen several times in the library before.

Xiang Meng was thrilled to see Xu Mumu. Meeting her at the semester’s end was unexpected. Xu Mumu seldom visited the library this term, so he hadn’t encountered her there.

In fact, Xu Mumu did go to the library, but she didn’t spend much time reading there; most of the time, she borrowed books to read at home.

"Senior Sister Xu, I didn’t expect to see you now," Xiang Meng said excitedly, unsure where to put his hands and feet. Xu Mumu was his goddess, his role model in study. He knew she had been praised multiple times at school.

"Oh, didn’t you take exams?" Xu Mumu asked in confusion, as exams for first and second-year students were around this time.

"I finished yesterday; did Senior Sister just finish?" Xiang Meng shyly scratched his head.

"Yes, I finished the questions, got bored in the classroom, so I submitted the paper early," Xu Mumu replied with a smile.

"Senior Sister is amazing. Are you heading back to the dormitory?" Xiang Meng looked at Xu Mumu with admiration.

"Going home, I don’t live in the dormitory," Xu Mumu shook her head with a smile. "Where are you headed?"

"I went out to buy some cold medicine; a roommate of mine is sick," Xiang Meng showed the medicine he bought to Xu Mumu.

"Then hurry and go back. Your roommate is still sick," Xu Mumu said seriously, surprised by his concern. People in this era really are quite warm-hearted.

"Alright, goodbye, Senior Sister," Xiang Meng nodded, though he wanted to chat more with Xu Mumu, considering his seriously sick roommate, he had to leave.

His roommate came from a poor family, refused to go to the hospital due to fear of costs, and preferred to rely on his body’s resilience. They pooled some money together, and Xiang Meng went to buy the medicine.

After seeing Xiang Meng off, Xu Mumu walked briskly home. Back at home, the kids who took exams there had finished their middle school exams days ago and were waiting for their scores.

Xu Mumu wasn’t worried at all; she believed in the kids’ abilities. During the New Year’s, she had personally tested them, knowing they firmly grasped the junior high knowledge. This middle school exam should be a sure thing.

Returning to the small courtyard, only Mrs. Liu was there, bathing the two dogs.

The two dogs had grown up and were now quite large, almost as tall as Xu Mumu when standing on their hind legs.

"Mumu, you’re back so early?" Mrs. Liu said with a gentle smile.

"Yes," Xu Mumu nodded, coming over to help dry the two dogs.

With the weather getting hotter and hotter, there was no need to worry about the dogs catching a cold.

Once mostly dry, Xu Mumu let the dogs go bask in the sun in the courtyard.
