Chapter 445: Dress Up for You

"Teacher, we have no objections," Song Qiao immediately said. Of course there’s no objection to such an honorable matter; we’ll have to properly thank Xu Mumu later.

"How about the rest of you?" The counselor glanced helplessly at the others.

"We don’t have any objections either," Su Yue’e and the others said. For them, it truly was a great honor.

The counselor was relieved to see that they all had no objections. Good, that’s settled.

When they returned to the classroom, Xu Mumu hadn’t come back from the library yet. They were a bit disappointed, but still very excited.

"We all know where Mumu lives. In a while, let’s go buy some things and bring them to her. What do you all think?" Su Yue’e asked for everyone’s opinion.

"That’s good. We don’t have class later, so let’s go buy the items. I have some money saved; I’ll bring it out," Song Qiao said excitedly.

After their agreement, they put their things down and went off to shop.

At the library, Xu Mumu returned the books she had borrowed, then started looking for new ones. She had read quite a number already, and she read quickly too.

Xu Mumu flipped through the ones in her hand, having seen both before. After searching for a while, she finally found what she needed. This time, Xu Mumu was directly looking for books on numerical control, an area where her knowledge was lacking, and she intended to study more.

Reading time always passes quickly. When Xu Mumu heard the bell, she felt she had barely read anything, yet two class periods had already gone by. It was time to go home, so she borrowed some books to take with her.

Back at the little courtyard, she was greeted by two enthusiastic dogs. Professor Song wasn’t back yet but called home every day, so Xu Mumu and Yin Yang didn’t worry too much.

Upon returning, still no one else was home. Professor Jian was busy with his new project, and Yin Yang was occupied with his business.

After fetching some hot water to clean up, Xu Mumu felt much more refreshed.

"What do you want to eat tonight? I’ll make it," Mrs. Liu asked with a smile as she swept the leaves in the yard.

"What’s left at home?" Xu Mumu curiously asked. She hadn’t been in the kitchen for quite some time and had no idea what was there.

"There’s smoked rabbit meat, an old hen Mr. Lin sent over, and two live fish in the water tank," Mrs. Liu briefly informed her. The Mr. Lin she’s referring to is Yin Yang’s assistant and Zhou Yunhong’s successor, Lin Zhengze, whom Xu Mumu met at her wedding with Yin Yang.

"I feel like eating fish soup. Let’s make fish soup tonight; the rest you can just cook a couple of dishes," Xu Mumu calmly suggested.

"Sure, I’ll go and prepare the fish," Mrs. Liu replied smiling.

Xu Mumu didn’t feel like reading for now, so she grabbed some scissors and went to the flowerbed, starting to trim the plants.

The door to the yard was knocked upon, and Xu Mumu thought it might be Yin Yang returning. However, the barking of the dogs suggested it wasn’t him.

She opened the door only to find Su Yue’e and the others standing there.

"Why are you all here? Come in and sit," Xu Mumu said, somewhat surprised, seeing the pile of items they held. She could almost guess why they had come.

"We’re not going to sit down. Mumu, this is for you, to thank you for adding our names to that list," Su Yue’e looked at Xu Mumu gratefully, and they handed over the items.

"You’re too polite; these things must have cost quite a bit. Really, you should take them back," Xu Mumu said, smiling indifferently.

"It’s not expensive, not at all. Mumu, just take them. Otherwise, we’d feel bad for taking advantage of you. Even though you accept these things, we’ve already benefited a lot," Su Yue’e said seriously, which was true. Even the dean was treating her better, which made her very satisfied.

In the end, Xu Mumu accepted the items. Initially, she wanted to have them stay for dinner, but everyone was too excited and went to the public restaurant for a treat.

They had dinner, and Xu Mumu didn’t insist.

Before long, Yin Yang returned and brought Xu Mumu a pleated skirt, which was quite stylish.

"Why did you think of buying me a skirt?" Xu Mumu asked happily. Yin Yang had a good eye for fashion, and the skirt was very appealing to her.

"I passed by the department store, saw the skirt, and thought it suited you the best, so I bought it. It’s not the season to wear it yet, but once it’s warmer, you can," Yin Yang said a bit regretfully.

"How about I wear it for you tonight?" Xu Mumu whispered in his ear teasingly.

"Of course, that’s great," Yin Yang raised an eyebrow slightly; she was definitely flirting with him. Hopefully, she could handle it later.

The evening’s fish soup was a hit; Professor Jian drank quite a bit, and so did Xu Mumu, until her belly was round and satisfied.

"I just slimmed down a bit, now Mrs. Liu’s going to fatten me up again," Xu Mumu remarked. She had spent much time in the lab recently, finally losing some weight, now about to enter the phase of gaining again, a blissful sort of trouble.

Yin Yang quietly observed her. Xu Mumu’s petite build made her look slim. Hugging her felt comfortable; if she gained just a tad more, it’d be perfect.

Of course, that was not something he’d dare say, lest Xu Mumu ban him from the bedroom.

After washing up at night, Yin Yang led Xu Mumu to their room to try on the skirt.

...

In the morning, Xu Mumu almost couldn’t get up. If not for the empty space beside her, she’d want to punch Yin Yang in the head — this guy really doesn’t know when to stop; she was sore all over.

She got out of bed, needing to head to class soon. The last two sessions were a school-wide rally. After breakfast and learning from Mrs. Liu that Yin Yang had already left early, she went to school with her little bag.

The bag was a gift from Yin Yang; it looked nice. While it couldn’t hold many books, it was convenient for small items.

Upon reaching the classroom, once again, Xu Mumu reveled in the attention of her classmates. She silently took her usual seat at the back.

Today Su Yue’e sat beside Xu Mumu and brought her two boiled eggs purchased from the cafeteria.

"Mumu, hurry and eat them while they’re warm, before they get cold and fishy," Su Yue’e said warmly, smiling at Xu Mumu.

"I already had breakfast; you don’t need to bring me any," Xu Mumu said helplessly with a smile, taking the eggs nonetheless — she’d had chicken porridge and pork buns earlier.
