70s Delicate Girl: A Guide to Being a Rich Woman
Chapter 437: Huo Qingze’s Treat
Returning to the courtyard, the two of them started packing up their things.
"We’re really quite wasteful, having such a big courtyard just to live in for the wedding. It’s too extravagant," Xu Mumu said with a sigh while packing.
Although there weren’t many guests at the wedding, mostly just family, the gifts that were sent, combined with what Yin Yang prepared, were quite a lot.
"In the future, when we have more free time, we can come here every year for a while. Once we have more kids at home, you won’t find this courtyard empty," Yin Yang said with a smile, already planning for a son and two daughters. He envisioned the son managing the Yin Family’s business while the two little princesses would enjoy their lives.
Xu Mumu twitched at the corner of her mouth but was a bit expectant. Both the Old Xu Family and Old Li’s family are quite fertile, so she should have inherited her mother’s constitution as well. By then, having a few more kids wouldn’t be a problem. Yin Yang wouldn’t lack money; even if there were family planning fines, he could afford them.
Both of them were making their own little plans, packing things up quickly.
Once most of the things were packed, Xu Mumu was exhausted and sweaty; there really was a lot of stuff.
"Why did you prepare so many things back then?" Xu Mumu glanced at Yin Yang, feeling it was quite a hassle to pack everything.
"These are all necessary things. Whatever others have, we must have them too," Yin Yang said grandly. Since they weren’t short on money, they wanted everything to be top-notch.
There was no need to take everything. They could come and stay from time to time, just taking the gifts from relatives and friends and some essentials.
The car was packed full, with Xu Mumu sitting in the passenger seat as Yin Yang started the car.
"Why did you switch cars again?" Xu Mumu asked curiously while sitting in the car. It looked very new, probably just acquired. These days, getting a sedan wasn’t easy like in later years when there were so many cars available. Back then, the number of cars was limited.
"This one is more comfortable, so I switched," Yin Yang said calmly.
The car slowly drove towards the small courtyard as Yin Yang and Xu Mumu chatted about other topics.
The solar power generation technology that Xu Mumu submitted earlier had already led to the construction of power stations in many places, making electricity accessible in several areas.
"It’s so slow," Xu Mumu pouted. After so long, only a few stations were built.
"It’s not slow. Safety should be the priority, and some places aren’t suitable," Yin Yang said with a smile.
Xu Mumu didn’t reply. Anyway, those people understood the principles, and she was looking forward to the development of wind and hydroelectric power in the future, which they were likely capable of achieving.
She hoped her hometown village would get electricity soon, making many things more convenient.
Returning to the small courtyard, Xu Mumu was immediately surrounded by two dogs. They had grown quite large and tall. When they stood up, it seemed like they were almost taller than her.
"Stop it, don’t jump up," she said, moving away as the dogs’ paws nearly caught her clothes. The dogs were just too enthusiastic.
Unfortunately, the dogs didn’t understand Xu Mumu and thought she was playing with them, becoming even more excited.
Xu Mumu wore a lifeless expression, looking exasperated.
"I thought you might stay there a few more days before coming back," Professor Song said with a satisfied smile, observing the two of them.
"We came back because it was dull over there with everyone else here," Yin Yang said, shooing the dogs away from jumping on Xu Mumu.
It was more comfortable to be back in the small courtyard, and when moving their belongings, Yin Yang directly moved all of Xu Mumu’s things to his room.
"In a couple of days, we’ll convert your room into a dedicated study. I’ll have Yun Hong arrange to bring some bookshelves," Yin Yang planned everything out.
Her room effortlessly transformed into a study, and Xu Mumu had no objections. She had quite a few books that needed organizing, so it was time to get bookshelves as there might be many more in the future.
Helping Yin Yang tidy up the room, Xu Mumu hung the mosquito net on the bed and arranged her belongings according to her preferences. Soon, their room was transformed.
"Mumu really knows how to tidy up; it feels more cozy now," Yin Yang said, placing a vase with some fake flowers on the table in the room, which looked quite nice.
"Stop buttering me up; what are we eating later?" Xu Mumu teased Yin Yang.
"We’re eating out. Huo Qingze’s treating us to fish at Qing’an Alley," Yin Yang said, wrapping Xu Mumu in his arms. Being married has its perks—letting him hug his sweet, soft wife to his heart’s content.
"Eh? Why’s he treating us to fish?" Xu Mumu wondered.
"It’s his birthday," Yin Yang said calmly.
"?? You didn’t mention this earlier. I haven’t prepared a gift for him," Xu Mumu said speechlessly, looking at Yin Yang. It was getting late, and any preparation now would seem insincere.
"No need to worry; I’ve already given him something. He’s very satisfied," Yin Yang said, pinching Xu Mumu’s cheeks, noticing that they seemed to have plumped up a bit.
"What kind of gift?" Xu Mumu asked curiously. Since they were now married, it would be unnecessary for her to prepare something separately.
"Evidence of his dad’s wrongdoing. It’s up to him when to use it," Yin Yang smirked. Huo Qingze constantly battles against his father, preparing to remove him from his position. However, for now, with his father’s connection, his factory runs smoothly, so he hasn’t acted yet.
"You’re really devious," Xu Mumu quipped, knowing he always had tricks up his sleeve.
"I’ve genuinely helped him, saving him a lot of trouble. That’s why he invited us for fish," Yin Yang said cheerfully, having already sent the item. Whether Huo Qingze used it or not wasn’t his concern.
Xu Mumu remained silent, knowing he’d always be right, and she decided not to bother.
After chatting for a while in the room, Xu Mumu and Yin Yang changed clothes and brought Professor Song and Professor Jian to the place Huo Qingze mentioned.
Looking at the small courtyard around them, the restaurant openly displayed its sign. People here had connections, confident in the stability of the policies. Therefore, they boldly displayed their signs and earned a living legitimately.
"Things have really changed a lot here," Xu Mumu commented with a bit of nostalgia as she stepped off the car.
